I can understand restaurants using sms marketing when they have a slow day but what other businesses can use sms marketing and how? Regards, Marian |

I think every business can use sms marketing it doesn't matter what kind. There is no particular business that shouldn't use it.

As an experienced mobile marketer i can tell you that sms marketing is a very powerful strategy for marketing in general ... but only when its done right. If you want to use sms marketing you should learn how to do it without "spamming" |

I think sms marketing would be great for night club promoters. Club goers could sign up via their mobile device to receive alerts about local events. ;-) ~Nancy |

Some email marketing systems allow you to capture mobile/cell numbers in signup forms and then SMS direct from your mailer. Not for everyone, but can work well.

Dentists, doctors and other professionals in the medical niche can use SMS to send appointment reminders to their clients. Pretty much any kind of retail business can send their customers a text about a sale, new products, upcoming events, etc... I'll give two examples of businesses I'm working with: A used car dealer with a service department has developed 2 lists. One for potential clients and one for customers who have already bought vehicles from them. Each month we send out a text to each group. The potential clients will get a message offering $500 off their purchase or they are informed of specials. The past clients are sent a message to entice them to come in for service (usually 15% off, but I need to come up with something new as that offer is getting old). A local real estate company had me set up landing pages with pictures and full description for all of their featured listings. Anyone interested in a property can text in (details are given on a sign rider) to receive a link to the landing page. The listing agent then gets a text or email (or both) with the cell number of the person who just texted in so they can follow up. ALSO since each campaign is keyword specific, lets say 10 people text in to view a property. The listing agent can send out a text to all of them notifying them of a price drop or anything else. SMS has (almost) endless possibilities. Just take a step back and turn up the creativity, you'll come up with something good. Also make sure you find a good SMS service provider (if you don't already have one). I use, and swear by Avid Mobile, personally. |
Rock n Roll is BACK! Best piece of advice I've ever received... "Listen, just shut the F*#^ up and listen!" (Because there's always going to be people who have been doing what you do/ want to do for much longer. Shut up, listen to them and learn from them) | |
