Care to share your successes in selling mobile websites? I will start us off, after creating a website and receiving business cards I did 2 days of walk ins only speaking to either the owner or manager (if part of a group or chain) and I closed 2 sales each day. Yesterday, I cold called 200 companies and nothing - walk ins are better for me, I think... |

Yes I agree, but I thought everyone knew to build a relationship with the person you are marketing too. I have found in the past network meetings a waste of time as everyone is trying to sell themselves, I dd pick some work up by educating people NOT selling to them - it then appears as you know your stuff and they want to know more. If you're simply educating people on your business you're selling. It's a part of the sales process (Introduce Yourself/Understand Your Customer's Needs/EDUCATE Customer on Your Products/Ask for the Sale/Close the Deal). In Network Marketing the difference is that you're training your referral partners to bring you referrals whom you end up selling your products/services to and vice versa. Trust me, its 1000% easier to close a deal passed to you by a referral than to cold call 200 times the way you did. As you said Business Owners/Managers are who you're targeting, I can assure you that many of them will go to the same networking meetings you are saying are useless...Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trade, BNI, etc. I know it works as I use network marketing successfully and I'm sure many others do as well. In any case good luck in your business! God Bless! | |

Dexter, Are you walking in with a mockup? What do you say when you go in? Are you targeting a specific niche? |

As I said before - I FOUND it a waste of time, if you wish to waste your time picking the low hanging fruit fine, I look for other opportunities. I own several businesses and once I establish a business model I then employ a manager to run it as it is set up. As I said previously, EVERYONE at these networking meetings are there to SELL THEIR products/services. It is different in Canada or USA but here in the UK it is WAY behind! ![]() |

Brenda, I call in with a mock up of what I can offer then I offer a mock up of their site -I have found they are not interested in a mock up of someone else's site. I call in to any store but NOT the major chains or brands. |

I feel that people find products and services more reliable when they see it and experience it on their own. If you are talking about a website, you can show a demo in person, but you can't enforce someone to see it, if you are talking on the phone. The appeal is not that effective then. If it is a mobile sales plan, then you should go for a personal visit method. I think it will be more beneficial in the long run and it might eventually start spreading through word-of-mouth. |

I agree with the personal visit. I talk with my whole body I guess. I tried hundreds of calls too, didn't work for me either. I'm a relationship guy I guess and the instant, "hey we got a problem, LOOK" is a clincher. Marc |
