Hey I was going to start a new thread for this, but I'll just post it here since it's relevant. Check out the mobile traffic/sales numbers from Black Friday. This is from IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark, meaning that it includes data from lots of big ecommerce sites. Not sure which, or how many:

This is the best I've seen so far and printed it use when showing the benefits to prospects. Like the prioritised list of what consumers want from the site in terms of information, saves trying to explain why the site does not need to be a replica of the desktop version.
Usually on sites there's just a bunch of stats and figures on ownership etc, like the infographic earlier in the thread, one stat was that 20% of mobiles are smartphones, for me that would maybe even deter a business from investing in a mobile site, it certainly takes away the urgency (IMHO) I prefer the projected stats.
Thanks for this, focused my attention on what people want and what should be offered...

Typical my country (Malaysia) gets the message "Note: Your selection has missing data. You may have selected a country that was not fielded inthis year or your selection has insufficient sample" was looking forward to printing this off - good resource though provided the country is fielded :)
