Mobile Applications -- Restaurants
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hey guys,

I want to sell mobile applications to restaurants, however want to see how successful others have been with it? Basically, my deal will consist of $1500 setup fee for Android & iPhone plus iPad application. For $275 a month, I will manage the application, send push notifications to promote specials, etc.

What are you guys doing? Am I on the right track?

Thanks in advance!

Abel

I feel apps for *single* store restaurants would be a hard sell (chains is another story). I looked into this and there is a better route -> Go the mobile marketing route with mobile website and SMS Marketing. That's just my opinion.

From my own experience with trying to sell both apps and mobile websites to restaurants (and other businesses), I found the mobile website route to be the more fruitful approach.

A mobile site costs considerably less and is easier to present to a restaurant owner (or general manager) as a necessary expense, given that a mobile presence is now imperative for businesses both big and small.

Apps, on the other hand, make for a harder sell. Apps essentially serve a purpose which cannot be achieved by a mobile site alone, which is not the case for the majority of local restaurants.

In addition, a mobile site can be an easier way to acquire a client to whom you could try to sell an app somewhere down the road.

Hi
It is obvious that mobile apps development is a NEXT generation business which is growing in a rapid pace; but as for me; do not simply go for development of Restaurants mobilei apps, rather go for all kind of local businesses apps which will get you more clients and more profit in deed.
You need to add some features like the photo gallery, social media integration, Fan column, tell-a-friend block etc along with the push notification in your apps.

Good luck

Hey guys,

Just an update on what I've done so far. I updated my Facebook status to ask my friends to connect me with a few restaurant owners around town. Anyway, I have two friends that connected me with two restaurant owners -- One is a Japanese Steakhouse and the other is a Mexican Restaurant with 6 locations. Both apparently need websites as well.

Anyway, I am meeting with one of the owners next week on Thursday and the other the following Sunday. I'll keep everyone posted.

mobile marketing + web design would be better route for a solo restaurant. unless their insanely popular which is definitely a possibility then they could prolly justicfy an entire app

The platform that we use to do this does all 3 (IOS, Android and HTML5) so you can offer them a mobile app and website presence. It is all much more affordable than what you are trying to charge too. You need to offer them a lower entry point and a more realistic month fee to get a few under your belt. PM me if you are interested in finding out more about the platform we are using or visit our website to see samples at Delta App Designs | Mobile Applications for Your Business

That's a bit high.. I've seen complete packages selling for 90 per month all turn key.
