Does anyone know of reputable companies who just like email lists, rent out lists of people who have opted in to receive SMS marketing messages? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

I wouldn't think this is really allowed is it? I guess it depends what they have opted in form but SMS is so much more in your face that you want to be very careful you are only sending people exactly what they opted in for. I wouldn't think this type of shared list marketing would work very well on SMS. |

This is not allowed and you're looking at potential SMS lawsuits if you go down this route.

Yes, you might enter into litigation, it is illegal. On the other hand do support @ WillR that this will not have a good effect. And finally as people involved in this industry wе cannot support such practices. |

Guys, Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough in my original post. I am not sending or intend to send unsolicited SMS messages. I hate it when I get them myself and I know that it is illegal. I was wanting know if there are any legal ways of renting SMS lists of people who have opted in to receiving text messages based on a topic of their interest. I know this is done in Direct marketing, as in physical mailing lists you can rent (SRDS as an example), and there are also companies that rent out double optin email lists also. My thoughts were along the lines of, can the same be done with SMS? What I'm getting from the feedback is the answer is no. Thanks for all of your input and wanting to keep me on the straight and narrow. |

There must be places to get these contacts from. Regardless of what others have posted I am bombarded with PPI claims texts because I didnt opt out of the 'we may pass on your details to third parties whos products may be of interest to you.' when I used an insurance comparison site. I am in England so cant comment on the rest of the planets laws. |

Yes, you can purchase lists. Can you get sued? Yes. Will people respond positively to your offers? I highly doubt it.
