Dealing with non-techy prospects
Share on:

As a matter of interest, to those who sell mobile sites over the telephone, how do you deal with non techy prospects. i.e:

* Those who have a website but have lost touch with webmaster / don't know passwords etc...

How do you overcome this complication to make the process as pain free as possible and simple for the client?

I think if you can sell yourself, your company and the urgency of finding a solution, then they should be willing to go through the process of finding the required info.

What you should be doing is making the process as painless for them as you can, by trying to handle as much of the process by yourself. Eg. Figuring out who their website hosting company is and who they should be contacting to reset the passwords etc. Maybe even write out the email yourself so they just have to send it?

I try to make it as easy as possible. Typically I try to do any editing on my end, if they are learly of this then I do a webinar so they can watch what I do on their server.

The only issue of run into is webmasters not wanting to release any information and telling the client that they can do this without involving me. Luckily I have a great product and this has never worked but it does happen from time to time.

Yeah, that's a point I was actually going to include in my post.

Thanks for your input.

If they are struggling with passwords then i would just create a video that shows them step by step how to find the passwords that you are looking for to get going with the sale
