No mobile marketing diploma :(

Have you meet those businessowners that ask what certificate or diploma you earn?
Most of us here have different diplomas, certificates from marketing, programmer or nothing to do with marketing or even have none.
So when biz owners ask you this crucial question you are like
Don't know what to say!

So I saw that an online couse was available at http://www.usanfranonline.com/online...-training.aspx
University of San Francisco’s: Advanced Mobile Marketing
Tuition cost $2,280
to get your certificate, hang on your wall, add on your website, add to biz card, happy to answer question from a biz owner.

Is it worth to spend $2280 when you already know all of it from WarriorForums, ebooks, books, experiences...

The piece of paper is a bit expensive but opens up more business oportunities?

Do you have a cheaper online course that ends with a certificate like academies? Not just for mobile but Internet Marketing in General.

IMO It is a very expensive piece of toilet paper!

I need to agree that this is a very steep price for a piece of paper,

I am also planning to do an online course and found this one here

The price is reasonable. All three courses plus diploma costs you $595.
I will search some more but this one does sound quite good.

I'm All for learning and have paid and continue to pay for information! Knowledge is what we need in this field But you have to be able to sell other wise your diploma means nothing!

I don't get it, when was it that a potential client asked you for a diploma? If they do they are just stokers! Unless you are planing to get hired from a Company, well they may ask you for a diploma other wise I don't think you need one! But if it makes you feel better Go for it!

I have diplomas in other fields and they are worth the price of the paper they are written on, maybe!

I can't even begin to count how many business owners I've contacted over the years to sell various services to, yet I don't recall a single one ever asking me about my education! The very first thing that most of them ask me is... "how much?"

They either see the value that I bring to the table right away, or they don't. If they don't (most won't of course)..... NEXT.

There's too many good prospects out there who appreciate what you do, so my advice is not to waste any time with the ones who don't!

Yes I did have a business owner that ask me if I have any diplomas in Tech field because he was amazed by what I showed him (a demo of a mobile website) then I was like uhhh
I simply told him that I was a self-learner and have over 10 years of experience in web design and marketing, then he was like "wow" and could not believe I could build a mobile site without having tech "paper" from a University. It's like it gives less confident from a client than when you say Yes I have a certificate or diploma from ..... University of.... in .... Field. So he did not contact me back even he was very interested.

Next time someone asks that, just smile and say "I'm an autodidact."

If he knows what it means, he'll be happy with your answer. If he doesn't, he may be too embarrassed to ask.

I've never had anyone ask me if I had a diploma. If they did, I'd probably say that I'm attending the school of hard knocks where education never stops.

Seriously though, I'd be willing to bet that the reason he never again made contact with you had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that you answered no. I couldn't count the number of times I was unequivocally convinced that I'd closed someone only to never hear back from them again.

I guess it's amazing Steve Jobs made it as far as he did without a diploma or certificate.

My advice, learn as much as you can from here (great FREE info), then put it into action. I amaze myself sometimes when I talk to potential clients how much I have learned (thanks warrior forum).

After a while you will be able to position yourself as the 'expert' who provides solutions instead of services.

Might be more beneficial to spend that same amount on joining organizations and paying for sponsorship's to get you in front of potential clients. Not sure how much business you're going to get from this certification.

Having a diploma will always help when searching for a job... but these scams for mobile marketing and even seo certificates can be used for toilet paper.
