@sharoncm: Listen, if you're serious about getting your real NATIVE apps marketed in a proper way then go visit: Got O.A.T.S.? - Organization for App Testing Standards - iPhone and iPod Touch Application Review Ethics Basically all the TOP QUALITY websites took an oath (Hence Got Oats) to make sure that they review purely based on real reviews and do not obtain money to do so. These sites include top app sites like 148apps, slide2play and many others. If you're serious about this business then that's the place to get the real deal websites. The other review websites you will get are all "PAID" sites that are usually popping up every other day and just trying to squeeze every dollar out of you. Keep in mind, many new scam artists are just buying pretty looking domain names, getting a cool looking wordpress template/theme and making themselves look big just to get $50-$100 out of you or more. I've had many scam artists take my money for years with various forms of websites that look "QUALIFIED" but at the end of the day never gave me any results. Here are some tips when trying to get a real deal quality site: 1. Real sites that will give you the BEST quality reviews are usually FREE... 2. Real sites that will give you the BEST quality results are the HARDEST to get into 3. Real sites that will give you a huge boost in downloads have hundreds if not thousands of emails DAILY from other app developers who are trying to get their apps reviewed. App review website reviewers have NO patience, so make sure that you have a VIDEO and screenshots and a link to the app. Promo codes are fine, but seriously no app reviewer who is a real deal app reviewer uses them unless they like what they see from a video. They have the SHORTEST attention span so if you can't catch their attention, you won't get your app reviewed. Here is a surefire list that works for me that I believe will help you get reviewed: 1. Write a BRIEF hello intro on who you are and what your app is. Something simple like, "Hi my name is Abhinav from Game Scorpion Inc. Here is the video of our new (ENTER GENRE) game/app for you to review: LINK_TO_YOUTUBE_VIDEO. Should you wish to write a review on the app, here is a promo code for you to download the app: PROMO_CODE. Thank you for your time, if you need to contact me please email me at: email@yourdomain.com, alternatively you may call me directly at: YOUR_NUMBER" 2. KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid always works. Honestly, if you don't have a video, chances are people are not going to be spending the time to download your app, especially when they have over 500-600 emails in a day to review an app!! Seriously just have a 30 second overview, it doesn't even have to be pro, it can be a private video on youtube just showing you touching the screen! They just want to see it in action, but make a video for SURE! Hope that helps God Bless! Abhinav |

Here is another list of 174 app review websites, however they may not be following ethics or standards, however these ones are ranked based on Alexa ranking. iOS App Review Sites – 174 Sites For iPhone And iPad App Reviews Once again, keep in mind what I stated in my earlier post...app reviewers don't have time due to the massive inflow of emails they get. If you don't have a video, consider your app dead from the start as no one has time to download your app unless they are planning to review it. Think of it from their perspective, if you had 600 apps in a day to review, do you think you would spend 5-10 min to download games/apps if most apps are around 50mb-300mb in size? And then after that having to remove them from your device, etc. Its much faster to watch a youtube video, determine if its an app worthy of review, THEN use a promo code or download the app for review. Also keep in mind, free app reviewers have no INCENTIVE to rate your app. This means that not only will you get a quality unbiased review, chances are that if your app really is good and they rate it well, you will get many more users due to the fact that people will trust that reviewers words over a PAID review service. That however does not mean you stop paying for app marketing. Keep a marketing budget and do things wisely. Some app promotion sites are definitely worth paying for, but once again it depends on the type of app and what you're looking for. If you want increased ARPU and have a free app, then FAAD like sites would be best. If however you have a paid utility app, then spending several thousand on FAAD like sites would not be the best method, and possibly forums and press releases may do the trick. Each app has a different marketing approach so make sure you keep trying out various combinations to see what works best. God Bless! | |
