Hi folks This a pitch I put together for selling mobile sites to restaurants. It based on a John Durham pitch which I hope he doesn't mind me posting parts of. Thanks John Hi this is ___________ with____________, we are a local Mobil Website Design company, hope you are doing well today? Basically the reason for the call today ________(name) is that we just wanted to introduce our services, and let local business owners like you know we are in the area taking new clients... and that our services are available for folks like yourself. I was looking at your website and I noticed that it is not smartphone friendly and therefore like many business's you are probably losing customers because nearly 1 in 3 customers are now viewing websites from there phone and even though your site looks good ón a laptop or desktop computer its not working correctly ón a smart phone. When I say not working correctly what I meán ______ is that your potential or existing customers have to do alot of zooming in and out and the general experience for your customer will be quite poor... many times people will leave the site because it is too much effort to find the information they want. Anyway, this is something that a lot of non specialty companies charge up to thousands of euros for, but right now we are offering the entire mobile packes to local business owners like youself for only €250, thats both design and set up, so there are no extra fees...Basically I was (or “we were”) just calling today to find out if this is something you have thought about DOING for your customers? ....If this is something you are interested in _______ then as a gesture of good will and also an opportunity to earn your business _____ we can design a mock up home page for free so you can see exactly what your getting before you decide this is something that will benefit you and your customers alike and before handing over any money... Any suggestions both negative or positive are appreciated, thanks. |

Personally I would fall asleep before you finished all that, then wake up just in time to tell you I'm not interested. Why not just ask, Would you would spend X minutes to see how to get 30% more potential customers to call your business? Then SHUT UP and wait for the answer. Then I would set an appointment to call on them and do the mock-up before you get there. Take some Infographics they can scan in seconds to get the point across that they are losing mobile customers and show them the mock-up on your phone as a solution to their problem. |

I see what your saying Warren, and your absolutely right it is long winded. I need to cut out unnecessary parts. Unfortunately though I think your approach is not going to be effective because were a bit more cynical here in Ireland and asking asking someone if they want to see how they can get 30% more business sounds way to sales man like and will get peoples back up especially if you haven't established some rapport and earned some credibility through identifying a problem and offering a solution. Also its a fairly well known principle that people are more motivate by loss (pain) than they are by gain (pleasure) . I might be reading into that a bit much but a good shot of pain (loss of customers) followed by a solid solution to that pain (more customers) is really my thinking behind this pitch. Thanks again for pointing out that it is too long winded and also for giving me a good line to use "30% more customers" :-) |

1) Introduce yourself 2) I spoke with you several months ago to introduce our services, and let local business owners like yourself know that we can help you with getting more customers and have a strong online presence! 3) John, the reason for my call today is that I noticed something that you are not taking advantage of that can increase your button line! Let me ask you John, if I show what it is, how it all works and that it can get you more clients! Can you handle $250 in your ad budget so that you can get more customers and make more money? Great get a piece of paper and pen you might want to write a few things. Again my name is ------ (Now you start your pitch, yes a sales pitch. You have to sell there is noway around this. You must take control, if they don't like you they will not buy so be a closer with class!) |

Business owners have to realize that THEY are NOT THEIR customers. I still have a landline! Meet you customer where the live, not where you live. THEY live on their mobile devices.. | |

I recommend you send post cards first to your targets. Then in a week or so do a phone call. Cold calling can take weeks of effort. Simple post card campaigns save many days of work. |

I think you need to take into account the possibility that you're going to run into a gatekeeper who will most likely screen any sales calls. You need to screen them early on and find out who you are talking to or find out the name of the business owner before hand. Build rapport with the gatekeeper so they actually want to help you and then ask them to set up a conversation for you with the decision maker. There are a number of ways I think you could improve your pitch. I'd be happy to share my personal script with you via PM. No catch required just let me know how it works for you. If you're interested just shoot me a message. - jsoli |
