webform for sms optin

does anyone know of any good/easy wordpress plugins or webforms that you can just enter your sms provider info and it will opt a user into your sms list.

so basically i have a webform where a user puts in their phone number. and then clicks a submit button to optin to my sms list.

but was looking for something where i can just enter my shortcode and keyword on the backend.

the platform i use has a webform optin builder but it's pretty bad...and i can't make out what the code snippet is doing to just pick out what i want.

anyone know of anything like this?
#optin #sms #webform

I use a web form that interacts with an OpenVBX flow when someone enters their phone number. PM me if you need some help with this.

The problem with a solution like this is that it's open to too much abuse. What's stopping me from going along and entering in random phone numbers and they then start getting messages from you they never wanted?

You can open yourself up to a whole load of trouble with something like this. People should be subscribing to your SMS list using their phone.

Its a valid point, but easily solved. Have the first message be a text response that confirms they want to join, just like an email double opt in. The first message tells them to reply YES or NO to being on the XYZ list. If they reply YES they get put on the list, and the next message goes out. If they respond NO the flow ends. Also, every message has Reply STOP to cancel so they can be removed anytime regardless.

I am fairly certain you can't just randomly message people's phones and ask them to optin to your list. That's exactly what you would be doing.

One key criterion for provisioning is that the consumer opts in to the service. The mobile operators demand a double opt in from the consumer and the ability for the consumer to opt out of the service at any time by sending the word STOP via SMS.

I wouldn't be randomly messaging people's phones, what I posted earlier would simply be a way to insure that people actually wanted to be on the list IF someone did randomly put their phone number into a form. Its no different than if someone randomly put in email addresses into a web form and pressed submit. Would the confirm email they get from Aweber be "randomly sending emails" asking them to opt into a list?

I've had SMS opt in forms up for clients on their websites for quite awhile without any problems. People generally don't go inserting all sorts of phone numbers into web forms for kicks. Anyone can reply stop to any message to opt out forever so the issue is not that big of a deal.

You can use PageGate with the web interface PageGate - SMS Server and Network Text Messaging Gateway Software for sending messages from a web page, you can create groups, drop down lists etc... all sending methods are supported. Not sure about how to integrate with WP though...

I think another good idea is what we do in list building, which is to offer a free ebook. I think in mobile marketing you can send a good offer and ask for sending a message "XYZ " at a number and start making list ...

I have seen this working wih smstextalert.com which i think is legit and workable solution ...
