Is There An Issue With This Approach?

Create a video, then email 100 people per day using Gmail, pointing them to the video of the problem - "their website does not work on a mobile device". Provide solution in video, showcasing 2 or 3 mock ups with a call to action.

Monitor the emails using yesware, so you know which subject lines are working and how much click throughs on videos on you tube.

Is there anything wrong with this approach?

Sending 100 email per day via Gmail may lead to an account ban if recipients report your emails as spam but other than that it sounds like a good plan. I know email works because I found my first mobile website clients via email but it takes some effort and tweaking. I would like to hear how it goes for you when you test this.

Just be careful how you frame the message. Their websites DOES work on a mobile phone. Don't say it doesn't work if it does because you will only annoy people and they will go out of their way to prove you wrong.

The fact is their site does work on a mobile phone, but it's not optimized for mobile viewing. This is the point you need to get across.
