Can you use a mobile redirect with a responsive website?
Share on:

Can you put a mobile redirect on a responsive website? Many of those responsive sites look like crap on a mobile phone. Can you put a redirect script on them to take mobile users to a separate mobile site would look much better.

Thanks, Ron

If you need any help set the redirection just let me know.I can set you up in no time

You can. I tested this out the other day as I put the re-direct code in the header. Worked out great. I prefer a separate mobile site for your phone, but don't mind the responsive for tablets.

I recently rolled out a responsive design for one of my clients. The problem was it was a bit slow when loading and didn't have the big click to call buttons. I setup a slim mobile site and redirected it with ease. There are many scripts and different ways to do it. I agree that a lot of times they don't look that great.

Yes for sure! Just like Lint said there are many scripts, but just test and tune!

Hi,
Help needed please. I have struggled along and have a basic responsive wordpress site up and running now (just about). I have been trying to build also a mobile version using "Will's mobile business" plan but have found it pretty awkward and very time consuming as im not used to any kind of html coding. I have installed and activated the redirect script for the site but it doesn't work. Could anyone give me some advice on how to correct this and make it work because I dont have any alternative solutions. Thanks!

Check out Jay Moreno's (he posted above) redirect plugin. It will do exactly what you need, and works very well.

If you really want to fix the problem of mobile sites, and redirects, grab a copy of his JumpMobi Inspire theme. It's all I use now, and you won't find a better solution.
