Hello fellow WFers...gotta question. I have a client whose mobile pages are showing up in Google search i.e. www.his_site/m/the_page and I don't want those appearing in the results as they are only supposed to be forwarded there from javascript I have on their desktop pages. What kind of no follow code should I use because I think the regular code I have always used applies to just links on pages. I just want Google to not index the specific mobile pages BUT I still want Google Analytics to be able to diffrentiate mobile views from desktop. Thx all... |

You could use a robot.txt with the following: User-agent: Googlebot Disallow: /YourMobileFolder/ |

User-agent: * Disallow: http://Domain name of add-on domain/forward slash/mobile folder/forward slash Problem is everything I read seems to make it sound like the "/" has to be in front...as if I can only have a robots file for my main domain. Can anybody PLEASE tell me if I have done this wrong? Maybe BlueStreak? Thx... bt | |

Hi bt, You don't have to put it in the root domain. An easier option might be to just go directly to the folder you installed the mobile domain. This way you don't affect other domains. Go to your File Manager >> Public Html >> Mobile Addon Domain >> add robot.txt here |
