Hi In few days I will have approved by Apple a new app for which I worked with my team more than 1 year. I think it is one of the finest pieces of software ever made. The investment in it was over $ 50,000 payment for my team but I am very happy with the results. My question is: how to make it well known, how to market this app in the most effective way ? Maybe there are paid services that take care of everything, have you tried any of them with good results ? Thank you |

You will need to make it a HUGE success to break even with a 50k investment.

everyone who saw this app through that it looks and works better than all the Top 10 apps in Top Sales in USA. it is breathtaking in terms of usability, design and market interest. I just don't have the initial contacts to market it until it reaches the critical mass of downloads |

Marketing is what finally sells. You need to spend most of the budget on marketing to actually make a good ROI |

also word of mouth will work in this case, because it fills up a huge market hole. And it was so hard to develop it that's the reason why nobody else did this kind of app before So what do you think guys, what should be the marketing/advertising budget for a succesfull iPhone app launch, and how to spend it ? |

Do you have different levels in this app? Say offer a basic level for free. If they like it, pay for the full version? Recouping that $50K might be a challenge without getting users a taste first of what your app is about for free, at least initially... If it's as you say the "finest ever made" get it to as many users to try and make it go viral. |

Thank you Mobilize this is a great idea. Where I can put the app in front of as many users as possible ? I heard that there are in-app ads networks, where I can advertise inside other apps - how much it costs me there and which are the best ad networks that do this ? Thank you |

You can use Apples iAd... register and then speak to an iAd representative about your budget and the specifics of your campaign. |

Sell a basic free version to spread the word.

Might want to contact different app review sites to market your app and reach exposure. Hope it helps! |

If you have at least 10,000$ for marketing you could start an Cost-Per-Install campaign. Start with low bids, like 0.50$ per install, later you can always make higher bids. Of course you need a really good monetization strategy: in-app purchases, advertisements, offer-ads, and/or sell your app. If you have a great app with high user retention and good monetization strategy, you can make about 1-5$ of each user over the users lifetime (from install to removal of the app). If you have enough data and you know how much you can make of each user, you can easily increase the CPI bids to get more installs in less time. [Edit]: An interesting thread about RevMob monetization and how the "big fishes" in the mobile app industry make money and get users with CPI campaigns: http://www.bluecloudsolutions.com/bl...tion-125-ecpm/ BTW: Schöne Grüße aus Oberösterreich |

I also have an iPhone app released and it has been a nice success so far it sold about 2500 times in AppStore United States... but I was wondering where can I release "press releases" to which website (probably somthing like prweb.com but which really works) so that will actually get then spreaded all over mass media ? Thanks |

Not sure what problem your app solves, but you could rank some videos where people search for the problem they're having? It may not return too many direct customers, but those people could be the biggest advocates to spreading the word. I know it's an app, and a lot of people will look for the app on their phone, but since we don't know what problem this app solves, it's hard to tell you exactly waht audience to put your app info in front of. But ranking videos can be free and it's easy to do, depending on your strategy. couldn't hurt that's for sure. and you'd get your brand spread through google. Obviously you've gotta hit the social networks, and have a support ticket system, but these are just things you'll need to have. idk if you have them or not yet. |
