Your best bet would be to call into both companies and compare both pricing AND feature set.

There are lots of things to consider when choosing a platform. If you don't want a monthly fee, then Twilio wins hands down.

Looks like Trumpias lowest plan is $50 per month and you get 1000 texts (credits). I have a client who has about 1000 mobile subscribers. One blast to that list is 10 bucks with twilio (1 cent per text), and 50 bucks for Trumpia. I like my profit margin better.

Twilio for sure.

Trumpia are forever sitting in this forum posting silly meaningless posts to get people to sign up for their service. Twilio doesn't need to because their service and results speak for themselves.

I would definitely go with Twilio. It's one of the most popular solutions out there.

I agree, nothing worse than posting useless 1 line comments just to promote your sig.

I am a current Trumpia reseller and have been for several months. Their platform works well, for sure, but my experiences with them have been extremely unsatisfactory, especially recently. If I had known at the beginning how they were going to treat me once they took my money, I would not have considered them.

Can someone please help me...Everybody talks about how twilio is so cheap but they charge for incoming sms..so that means if I build a business using Twilio then I will have to pass that charge onto my customers..so its not that cheap because services like TXT180 or Trumpia offers their customers free incoming ..so how how do I compete against that? I am I missing something..Twilio is expensive..not cheap..can help me understand how do you explain to customers that they have to pay for both incoming and outgoing sms?

Right now inside the USA it costs $0.0075 per incoming and per outgoing message using Twilio.

If you send out 1000 message and also receive 1000 messages in a month that would cost you $15.

At trumpia I see the pricing for 1000 messages is $50, plus they limit you to the amount of contacts you can store.

At TXT180 I see the pricing for 1000 messages is $24.95.

Looks like using the twilio API is the cheapest solution out of those 3 when it comes too 1000 messages a month

Does anyone know what method twillio use for coupon delivery? is it wallet like lime cellular or text/mms? how does lime cell compare with twillio?.. i think they are a bit more expensive but they dont use mms to send coupons. i think in this business, your method of delivery is very important (text vs mms vs 2d/3d.. cost to consumer? appreciate if anyone can share their knowledge

Twilio gives you the ability (through API) to send and receive SMS and MMS messages. They don't actually provide you with a "user-friendly" platform to send these messages.

So, it really is up to you on how you want to use Twilio for coupon delivery. You would just need to build a platform how ever you'd like... and integrate the twilio API.

In Twilio Conference 2013, Twilio decreases its incoming and outgoing messages rates, so now the best option is Twilio. Twilio is cheaper now.

You could also check txtwire (they have customers like Walmart, Subway, Taco Bell, Home Depot, etc.) They have various plans, but if you're talking about reselling text, then I would contact them directly to get a price quote (no fee for incoming texts). Their platform is pretty robust as well.

I know one of the partners/owners of txtwire, so let me know if you'd like an introduction or help in any other way.

When I was looking into text providers, I checked many options, including Trumpia and Twilio. Trumpia's platform seemed more impressive than the one for Twilio. Trumpia gave decent service, but I could tell that they were in the same situation as many other large companies - that there were just too many people to deal with instead of having that personal service.

When I contacted TXTWire I got an immediate reply, good answers, and a personal contact. It was not until later that I happened to meet one of the owners, and have enjoyed meeting with him on several occasions. If you want service, I'd recommend TXTWire. If you want an introduction, I can help make one.

PS! I do not work for TXTWire, I have simply been impressed by their service and their tools, so I thought sharing my experience with them could be beneficial to the conversation.

Generally Twilio is geared towards API users whereas Trumpia is geared towards users who need an established control panel to manage and send their sms text messages.

Re: trumpia or twilio

I think Twilio and Trumpia have their own "spots" they work best towards/are marketed towards...

If you want to be an affiliate with ready made tools go with Trumpia, (no way in hell you can compare with the full services they offer on your own without spending $$$ to get the coding done).

But if you can code and create your own API's... you don't need Trumpia, and as such you don't need to lose $$$.

Trumpia=for affiliates/ppl who can't code/don't feel like doing so
Twilio= for ppl who can code/create applications and such...

---
I use Trumpia as an affiliate account, I use Twilio for developing applications that need mobile services.

They both are "good" they both are geared towards a different "market" to appeal to.

I have accounts with both companies but for SMS I use Twilio. Both companies are good in their own ways. You have to check them both out and pick which one is more convenient for you.

Re: trumpia or twilio

I have used both and was a white label reseller of Trumpia. Out of the two Trumpia is an easier system and out of the box ready to go. Twilio is more of a "get your hands dirty" system.

I had issues with sending to the Trumpia short code here in the UK. Seemed to work intermittently but we did get people on it (restaurants etc). In fact we ended up building a front end booking system using their API.

I really didn't like my white label provider selling to the general public. It was hard to compete on message prices and we eventually built our own sms system with some very unique features.

I'm pretty certain some of these features like click tracking from an sms message and auto complete fields (like name, email etc) from sms to a web form aren't available anywhere else.

The click tracking feature is very popular with lead gen companies. They can see in the portal as soon as a link is clicked in the sms they send. This indicates interest and the leads can be followed up on immediately.

Payday loan companies bit our hands off for that one!

We also developed our own white label available to the UK (US to follow soon)

Let me know if you need more info

MJs did you ever launch your white label? Curious to see how that is coming along, also I'm reading in this thread that people are going with both Twilio and Trumpia?

I might have misread, would love to hear more feedback!
