Age of QR Code Users I've seen research saying that QR code users are the young 18-22 year old crowd but my personal experience is that the senior citizens are the first to pull out the smart phone and scan them. What is your experience? |
Re: Age of QR Code Users I would expect the 18-22 year old crowd to bo the main users as this age group are the ones who have grown up with this technology as the normal thing to do. |

As a restaurant patron, I have seen the same happen. Come to think of it, it is not seniors in general, it is male seniors. They always have an excited demeanor and are eager to show the female they are dining with what the code is used for. I've seen this at least half a dozen times. |

The statistics are clear, it is the young age group and although technology adoption is increasing in all age brackets, its the young folk that win the tech battle and will continue to do so into the future. 18-25 yr olds use the internet the most, use youtube the most and use their phones the most. |
Re: Age of QR Code Users One of the things I tell everybody in our marketing department is to not say what you would do or have seen. Nobody cares and it's not a study! If you were wondering who scans QR Codes, please watch my video Hip to Be Square about QR Codes. We do cover the psychographics and demographics of the typical QR Code scanner. |
Re: Age of QR Code Users People actually use QR codes? I am kidding, sort of. The adoption of QR codes feels to me much like the adoption of 'mini disc' players. They were the next big thing for years, until they never happened. Don't get me wrong, I am a mobile guy. I believe in mobile. I even have a QR scanner on my phone... but only because I market mobile services. I am excited to check out the video posted above because I don't know a single person who uses QR codes. But, like they mentioned above, my anecdotal evidence means nothing! |
Re: Age of QR Code Users QR Codes are really in need now as some uses smartphones nowadays. |
Re: Age of QR Code Users Definitely the young crowd 18-25 however I did not really see QR-Codes taking off the way they were supposed to. I am developing apps myself and I always deliver QR-Codes to be used with my apps but most businesses don't implement them. WHY? I don't know! |
Re: Age of QR Code Users QR codes are not as popular among users as they are among marketers. The demographic is right 22 - 29. |
Re: Age of QR Code Users The biggest downside to QR codes is the fact people need to have an additional app installed to use them. I think if phones came pre-installed with a QR code reader then the uptake on QR codes would improve significantly. |
Re: Age of QR Code Users QR code readers need to be integrated into phones native camera. You should be able to just take a pic w/ cam and it recognize the QR code w/out having to download a separate app. |
Re: Age of QR Code Users Usually people in the teens (13-18) would use them more as they take more pictures with their phones than the average. |
