Mobile GAMES Noob question...Is the technology here yet that 2 people on 2 different mobile devices can play a game with each other?...Must it be on the same platform? |
Re: Mobile GAMES Yes they can (and do it all the time). I have only seen turn based and not simultaneous play, so not sure on that. It use to be that you had to be on the same platform, but I play words with friends with people on andriod and I am on Iphone. Heck, I can play people playing from Facebook, too. |

Is this still true? |
Re: Mobile GAMES I expect it has been around for ages. All it needs is the game engine on a webserver and the mobile devices just get the game data from there. So any mobile platform would just need an app that gets the data from the server and build the gameplay around it. |
Re: Mobile GAMES Have a look into Apples Game Center. |
Re: Mobile GAMES One of the easiest ways for this to be true is if someone created a web browser game, and then took their webpage, and turned it into an app. Since web pages can be accessed by various platforms, the game app made from the webpage of the game should be accessible from various devices as well. |
