Building iPhone app, what files do I need from contractor?

Hello, I just finished building an iPhone/iPad app and I'm wondering what kinds of files I need to get from my contractor.

I want to keep all the files related to my app myself in case I need to make updates or anything and I have to hire a different contractor.

Does anyone know what I need to make sure I get from him? He's apparently putting together a build for me to submit to the app store but I think I probably need some other files as well.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You'll need all the files that make up an XCode project. Xcode organises these into a folder with the same name as the project.

For app store submission you will need an app store icon and some screenshots, ideally in both retina and non-retina resolutions.

You should get your hands on the iTunes Connect help guide which is a PDF you can download and review. You should read this and be your bible on what you should have in terms of actual assets relating to your app.

You can get this from the Apple developer website, or I think you can get this from Google search too.

You should get all source code of the build. If you hired a contractor to build the app, it may be necessary to do updates to the build/code and may need to keep the contractors details to do the code updates (if necessary).

Retina (Double image size/precision) on images is important. Apps will not be submitted without retina images.

Sometimes, although I've never come across it, you can tell Apple to access art assets from a FTP folder you set up for them. I've only ever heard it being used in passing, but I've personally never had to do it.
