Back to mobile

I posted this in the programming section and not getting much response(unless i didnt understand the response), unsure if that was the right area or not, but figure ill try the mobile section as you guys, im sure are doing this.

I have a mobile site. On it I link to view full website.
I want to place a link on the desktop site that goes back to mobile. But only want it view-able on the desktop version when on a mobile device.
How is this done?

Its for a regular html website, not wp.

You can check the browser UserAgent to check if its a mobile device or not; can be done using Javascript or any other server side language you're using.

Simple Google Search - With Code

Detect Mobile Browsers - Open source mobile phone detection

Thanks.
I got the part with using a script to check if its a mobile device. I have a script like this on my site to redirect mobile users.
What I dont have is how to use it to just place a simple text link to display to mobile and cant figure it out.

tedobee install a redirection code on your desktop site. That will instruct the browser to read the redirection script and take the visitor to your mobile site.

which redirect script are you using?

if it uses cookies you can probably get the value of the cookie and use it to do a javascript based conditional statement to toggle a hidden layer with your link in it

Re: Back to mobile

I am most certainly not a programmer..., but can't believe this person posted a question back in June and still has not received the correct answer. :(

Nothing to do with browser UserAgents or JavaScript or Server Side Language or Redirection Codes or Anything Else of the kind!!

Now if I'm reading this right, Tedobee is working with two websites: One for PC and One for Mobile...

This person can have one hundred links pointing to where ever from the PC website as well as one hundred links pointing to where ever from the Mobile site... with all those links not showing on the other site. Why is this so complicated? lol

So by installing one link on PC site to direct to Mobile site most certainly will not show up on Mobile site because it is a completely different site!! Did that make sense? I hope so, because I've now got a headache.... and probably you do too. ;)

Todobee, if still out there PM me and I'll put a blindfold on, tie arms behind back, and complete this for FREE!!! lol That is, if I'm reading your question properly. ;)
