Should I use gsm modem base software or SMS gateway?

I am confused what to use for mobile marketing. Should I go for GSM modem based marketing for sms or should I take sms gateway?

It really depends what type of plan you are having in your sms, if its a free mega pack then even you can use gsm mode, but do remember you should have a gsm modem so it might cost you and you need application to send sms too. For gateway you just have to have an API to send sms
