I've been getting a few emails over the past couple of weeks offering me these ad types for my applications. I say they're "invasive" simply because they hijack system functionality to display the ads. For example, exit ads show advertisements when the user exits and application, and notification ads show up in the notification bar. I have been planning to monetize my apps for a while because I am starting to get decent download numbers, but am worried that this type of advertising will do me more harm than good because users might decide that it isn't worth their time to deal with the ads. So have any of you had any experience with this type of advertising? Have you seen a massive reduction in your userbase, or a massive increase in profits? Compared to traditional in-app advertising methods, are these more profitable? Thanks |
