So I got started in the mobile app creation business with the hopes of being able to make some extra money each month so that I could cover my rent, gas, and car payments while I use my regular 9-5 as money use and save on everything else. Now I knew that trying to find sales would be difficult but every one I talked to is not interested. I have also tried to contract people to do a min sale of 3 apps and then give them a portion for their work but this has failed to. I am using the bizzness apps software to create my apps. now my questions are: How can I make money using affiliate products such as using clickbank or another source such as a dating site? Ive heard people in the forum explain that they create video apps and and ebook apps and make money from that as well, but i wouldnt know where to begin. Is there any so me what easy way to start making money with mobile apps or did i just get into something i didnt need to? Lastly what would you reccommend me to do such as making apps for business, directories, ect? Ive mainly thought only about Local businesses for money and it hasnt worked out, so i am looking for other ideas. Any help and reccommendations would be HIGHLY APPREIATED! |

Hello neroa1, The market of mobile is quite large and there are plenty of opportunities. You were asking a target to focus on, and I suggest you these ones: wedding apps, company apps, restaurant apps, ONG apps, local sport teams apps and many others. Sometimes it doesn't work with local businesses and you need to reevaluate your target. I wish you good luck with your business. I would be glad to give you advices if you need it. |

Hey man, this maybe a bit off your plans right now. But you can try looking for web designers and programmers and strike a deal with them. Basically guys that make or design websites. Maybe it's a but hard for local business owners to grasp the value of mobile right now. But they already know that they need a website to survive today's competition. So if the pitch will come from people who make websites, maybe they will see the importance of having mobile apps. And maybe you know this already but by next year, there will be more mobile internet users than desktop internet users. I just forgot the source for this but it's out there if you find it. Maybe you can try incorporating statistics like this in your sales pitch and you can convince buyers. Good luck man! Never lose hope! |

Hey Neroa1. I do understand your frustration, and I hope,my post will help you out. I started in the mobile marketing industry couple of months ago, and let me tell you it was tough at the beginning. Some small businesses don't see the value of mobile yet, but we will get there pretty soon. You said you are using biznessapps which is a great platform. When you subscribe for their service, they provide you with marketing materials that you can use to educate your customers. That's the point: education. Your prospects need to trust you first, educated by you, before buying from you. Print those marketing materials, and give them away to small businesses for FREE. There are various PLR reports out there, related to mobile marketing that you can give away or sell to business owners. Keep in touch with them, connect with them (emails, cellphone, ect) and send them useful information and insights on mobile marketing very often. Build a mockup and show them; select local businesses who are already using mobile and explain to them the opportunity they are missing by not going mobile. You can also start by creating mobile websites for non-profit organizations (churches, NGOs, ect). Once they are using you mobile websites, some of their members might interested to know who did the mobile website for their church or NGO: and that's where you come in. Hope this helps you out. If you have any question, PM me and I'll be more than happy to help you and provide you with useful links. Peace!!! |

Hey Neroa1 Selling mobile solutions to local businesses is very lucrative and yes even today a virtually untapped market targeting local small business owners. The caveat is business owners are slow to realize the need, although that's not their fault, they simply don't understand and need to be shown how this will benefit their business. The key word here is "Benefit", the business owner has to understand how they're going to benefit from a mobile marketing solution. You'll also notice how I said "mobile marketing solution" I didn't just say a mobile app For one if you're just focusing on apps, and that's all you have to offer the business well that's like showing up to a gun fight with a knife. Not every business needs a mobile app, and if that's all you've got to offer you're leaving money on the table If you're serious about selling mobile to local businesses and you want to maximize your chances of success you need a few more bullets in your gun. So you should offer SMS services, and mobile websites along with the apps at the very least.... Now that you have a full arsenal of services and by listening to the business owner, gathering some basic information, you should be showing them what kind of return on their investment that they'll be getting... that's what they relate to how much money will this make them at the end of the day it's B2B sales. selling mobile marketing solutions B2B is still a virtually untapped market, just look at the numbers they confirm the majority of small businesses don't have an app, mobile site or any mobile solution...that means HUGE opportunity BUT B2B sales isn't for everyone, the most effective way to sell mobile solutions is to hit the street and cold call on small businesses.....That takes a special type individual to excel at this type of sales, there's no luck involved it's an art... the art of sales. So chances are you were going about it wrong, that's usually the case and I don't say that to be condescending I mean no offense at all, I've been in sales all my adult life and I've never seen a service with such potential that everyone business owner needs (whether they know it or not) I'm an enterprise client of biz apps and you're correct it is the best platform on the market for making apps for small businesses and yes you can make niche apps with the platform absolutely. I mean skybuilder is supposed to be a great platform for building niche apps News Flash: Bizz apps blows it out of the water if that's what you're wanting to do...you can monetize the app with a m.commerce store, admob, obviously the push messages with the new capabilities of including a link or coupon or sending the user to a specific page in your app... ok there's my 2 cents hope it helps |

Generally, mobile apps serve a purpose that a mobile website alone cannot deliver which is not the case for the majority of small business; at least not yet. On the other hand, selling a mobile version of a standard site to small business is a much easier route to pursue. Small business owners can be made to understand that, given all the current mobile phone use stats, a mobile version of their site is all but necessary. He or she, the business owner, can also be made to understand that all the zooming in and out, among other shortcomings of a non-mobile optimized site viewed on a mobile device, to read all the content within their standard site can be a turn off for a potential customer, and that given the fickle nature of smartphone users, and internet surfers in general, that potential customer is more than likely to hit the back button and proceed to visit a site that offers a mobile version, costing them business in the process. This makes paying for a mobile site an acceptable expense for the business owner, thereby augmenting conversion rates for a mobile site as compared to those for an app. In addition, acquiring clients through the mobile site route can open the door for selling apps down the road. Hope this helps. | |

Consider that you are probably giving up a bit too soon on “sales” Face to face b2b is the best way to sell anything to a business. So just admit that you probably just “suck at that” I know lots of guys who sell that same app for 2k and 100 a month to a business.. You can do it too. Get some books, study, devote some time.... get a sales process together and boom. youll get a sale... then rinse and repeat. |

Selling mobile sites and apps is not my core business, but when I have sold them, I have started with setting up a demo site with their company info which I got off the internet, and then selling it as an upgrade or part of a package of other services. This gives them the visual. The mobile site and apps can be very simple and I use an online builder to do it. As others have mentioned, this all comes down to sales. If you aren't selling as much as you've hoped, it means you need some work on your sales skills. I would read all you can on prospecting and selling, then go from there. Good Luck!
