Making a Mobile Website ONLY

Hey guys, i would like to create a mobile website were people can download APPS when they visit on there mobiles. Im thinking ONLY android apps for the time being. I have experience building normal sites in wordpress, but wondered if i should just build the website in wordpress and have a responsive theme, or if i should create a "mobile website" which i have no idea how to do?

Im going to be using mobile Download lockers as monetization btw.

Yes responsive is the way to go for the desktop/tablet devices and mobile website for smart phones - then you have all angles covered.

Jump Mobi may be one to consider.

Yes, but you want to project a professional image and providing a mobile website with wix free mobile on it will not cut it, I'm afraid.

We create sites like these all the time, quick to load, easy to navigate and professional:

Do it in WP, with a responsive theme, for definite. Then you've got the best of both worlds, or every world if you like, because the site will work everywhere. That's definitely the way forward. Google are saying themselves now that you shouldn't have a separate mobile site - it should be one site that works across every device - and that's probably not bad advice.

Hope this helps,

Another vote for WP responsive theme. As mentioned in other threads, you are hitting two birds with one stone and a site is more effective if it works on whatever device the person is using. Less work also.

Where is Google saying this?

Matt Cutts has mentioned it on his blog and in interviews, but I've read it in other places too. Google Insights possibly...

Make Your Website Work Across Multiple Devices ? Think Insights ? Google

...which has a lot of very good info.

And here's a direct quote - “Google recommends using RWD because using a single URL for a piece of content makes it easier for your users to interact with, share, and link to your content, and a single URL for the content helps Google's algorithms assign the indexing properties for the content".

Hey,

I run a part time business offering Mobile Web Design for ONE TIME payments, and give the consumer 2 options to choose from, a personal website or a business website package.

My pricing is very low compared to ALMOST all competitors, and do not charge monthly fees to the consumer (which is great). I have been thinking about offering a partnership opportunity in which you would run your own business offering a Mobile Webpage Conversion Service and charge the customers whatever you would like. I would charge a minimal yearly fee, and return will give you my services that I use to make mobile webpages for customer.

Please let me know if you are interested, I am only offering this for a short while......

What Google said they are going to start emphasizing is page (load) speed. Since it's all about the end user experience, and the fact they make a LOT of money off of mobile ads ($2.4 billion the last quarter of 2011), it was bound to happen.

While responsive is recommended, it's not going to be enough in the long run. I have been using responsive for quite some time, but found it doesn't do it all. For smart phones, a mobile optimized site is still your best bet.

It's interesting to note that for years WordPress was used on a very wide basis, but in the last year or so, WP has taken note of the thing they lacked, streamlining their platform in relationship to what Google wants for page ranking and search results. They have really come of age. Is all I use now, especially with some of the premium plugins that are totally geared towards making the big G happy.

Like Dex, I use the JumpMobi theme for mobile sites, and can integrate it into the main/desktop site. This covers the alternate/additional m.domain.com concern and was designed with validation and page speed in mind.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Check Warrior for Hire section at Warriors For Hire .You can find a trustful provider who build mobile websites per your requirements.I'm there too but do your research before chosing the person to work with. Don't limit yourself to mobile site builders and themes if you want your website to look more professional.
