Just wondering if anyone is actually making any money selling mobile websites. Wondering also what niche seems to be most receptive? Thanks, Jim |

I am only using cold email at the moment, with very little success. My feeling is that most small business owners are as thick as two short planks. |

We do cold calling from a script we have used in other businesses (originally it was a devised by a 3M sales manager!) and it has a good conversion into either an appointment, mockup of mobile website or even a demonstration for a product - so can be used in most industries. We have also taken on an email team to see how it goes, as we can have a greater reach with email almost 5x more per day. The more no's you get, the nearer you are to a yes. No one niche is more receptive in my opinion - they all have reservations, so you have to educate them. Some warriors just phone up and ask if the want a mobile website - totally wrong approach! The easiest answer from the business owner is 'no, go away'. But if you can address a problem they have, they will listen and they will pay for your expertise. Dexter. | |

I think the problem with small business owners is that their heads are down and their arses are up. In other words they are so involved in working IN their business, instead of working ON their business, that they just can't see the big picture. Whare I am, in a small rural community with some larger regional towns, it amazes me how many businesses don't even have a web site! Cold emailing is not the best way to go, but cold calling small business owners who are flat out working is not a great idea either. I do like the idea of flyers, or better still a flyer inside an envelope, addressed to the business owner, delivered or shoved under their door after hours. I will try this one for sure. |

I am, going to target local business, as stated above, by slipping a flyer inside an envelope under their business doors after closing. You know it's going to get opened. I have been trying to think of something a bit out of the box to have on the front of the envelope, rather than just "To the Business Owner". Any ideas? |

We used $1 bills and it worked ![]() ![]() In our opinion the effort did not pay off, if we had had orders in the region of 20+ it would be a different story. ![]()
