Re: Android vs iOS For people developing for android don't forget about amazon market. ;) Gets good downloads and LOT less competative. Requires very little extra work to upload. Only thing is they do review the apps and you wont get away with anything that could be copyrighted, name etc. |
Re: Android vs iOS Android has a bigger base than iOS. But I would suggest launching the app on both the stores. Many a times, an app might not do well on iOS but gets freaking number of downloads on Google Playstore and vice-versa. |
Re: Android vs iOS First off you need data. Which country will you be targeting ? Free or Paid app ? What is the competition on both platforms for an app similar to yours? Get specific download info for social media apps to see how they are doing. There are already a bunch BTW ! If it is a paid app it will more than likely do better on iOS, however it is more expensive to advertise for. In the USA iOS is doing great. Android does well in many countries and does well in the USA, but iPhone users in general spend more money. |
Re: Android vs iOS I have been looking into this topic recently for an app I want developed. Apparently you can code the app in HTML5 using phone gap and you can publish the app for both platforms. |
Re: Android vs iOS I think both are excellent OS's - I use both daily. My concern with Android, and the complete opposite to Apple off course, is the profitability of the hardware supporting it. If you're choosing an Android device, it might be worth doing your research before choosing a manufacturer. Indeed whilst Samsung will be around this time next year - they're a huge conglomerate off course - a bunch of other brands probably won't be. HTC for example could be sold or broken up in the near future. The same could be applied to other loss making manufacturers, which make up the majority of the market. Fortunately, for Google and Android, low cost Asian brands like Huawei appear to be saving the day. |
Re: Android vs iOS Of course ! Android. There are plenty of handsets working on droid, you just can't go with iOS alone. But , for a business i'd rather say make app for both platform. |
Re: Android vs iOS I think you should go for both...but to launch your app for ios you need to first pay and after their approval only then your app will be available in ios market, unlike android where no such procedure is required to launch an app on playstore. |
Re: Android vs iOS I love android because there is cheaper and more value compare with ios. |

At our company we completed a lot of project using PhoneGap technology and we can say that it's really effective. We are glad to share our experience on working with PhoneGap here PhoneGap: How To Create One App For All Platforms - MobiDev |
Re: Android vs iOS I love how many of the people saying "off course" Android... have no apps in the app store either in iOS or Android. want to make money? iOS. Period. |
Re: Android vs iOS Android platform is relatively better because it is user friendly plus it doesn't require any special operating system for development. |
Re: Android vs iOS think best android very easy setup apps and always update android version tnx :) |
Re: Android vs iOS My two cents, look at your target market first. What kind of phone/tablet do they use? Let that be your guide. |
Re: Android vs iOS I've used both. But i like iOS most. Android is slower it's reminds me Symbian days. |
Re: Android vs iOS Both powerfulll |
Re: Android vs iOS IOS for UK/US and Android for the rest. :P |
Re: Android vs iOS Definitely Android!! |
Re: Android vs iOS Users of iOS tend to spend more money on average but Android has a larger user base and it's growing rapidly. So if you're going for a premium experience, it may be a better idea to start off on iOS. But if you're going to be ad supported, Android would probably be the better choice. Either way, both ecosystems are massive and you can't really go wrong regardless of which one you choose to launch on first. |
Re: Android vs iOS Lots of techie people like to explore their mobile to the optimum, there is a plenty of opportunity for this in Android mobile |
Re: Android vs iOS hello, From my point of view its IOS because it provides better service and cool apllications hence also have more good and cool reviews in market...... |
Re: Android vs iOS My experiece said ANDROID is better than IOS |
Re: Android vs iOS Go for Android first (it's the numbers game) but then later go for both IOS-Android. |
Re: Android vs iOS Android is developed by Google while IOS is given by Apple Android belongs to Linux family while IOS is to OS X ,UNIX OS family In Android almost anything can be changed while in IOS it is limited. Android is programmed in C,C++,Java while IOS is in C,C++, Objective-C |
Re: Android vs iOS Andriod is better than iOS, Android is the product of google and every body relies on the google ad service. |
Re: Android vs iOS Since they introduced iOS 8 with more advantages for app developers, it is probably a good reason to develope an app for iOS. But they also have big problems with several glitches so not every iOS user would update to iOS 8 now. |
Re: Android vs iOS Both Android and iOS have many advantages and some disadvantages. But when compared both for developing an application, Android is the best. |
Re: Android vs iOS It depends what is your primary requirements. I am an owner of mobile app CheerGram which is available in Android right now. Also, planning to Launch the same for iOS. As far as own concerns Android's guidelines to publish app is much more easier than iOS, that takes 2-3 weeks or even more to publish your app live. |
Re: Android vs iOS i will advice if you are starting newly, go the iOS way because the apple screening process will help you produce a good app which you can then port to android. |

Aside from the reasons above, in terms of availabilty, Android also kicks off more. These are Many phones and tablets, including Kindle Fire(modified android), LG, HTC, Samsung, Sony, Motorola, Nexus, and others more than ios. Also, look at the following in terms of crashes per apps (acc. to Forbes) http://blogs-images.forbes.com/tomio...p-crashes1.png |
Re: Android vs iOS Android is well known for its customization, as it is a open media source it gives users to install a no of application. If I talk about ios then it is known for being quick, clear and secure. So if you need future advancement in your application then Android may be an option for you. |
Re: Android vs iOS If you want to make money, Then Go with iOS apps, it generates 10x more revenue when compared to Android |
Re: Android vs iOS I would like to share that users of android are more than IOS apps. So you if you develop application for both OS then its good to provide a choice to your users to use this application in their IOS and Android all devices. |
Re: Android vs iOS |
Re: Android vs iOS I choose android cuz it is an open resource OS ! |
Re: Android vs iOS I love IOS because it's really easy to use, not so complicated like Android i think :D :D |
Re: Android vs iOS I would Suggest to go with Android at least for a start, and then IOS |
Re: Android vs iOS I will go with android, because android have more features then the iOS |
Re: Android vs iOS It's important to note that while Android has greater market penetration, they also have greater hardware/software fragmentation (more difficult to develop for the whole market). Android users also, on the whole, spend far less money than iOS users. |
