Since Google changed their keyword tool to the planner and that doesn't show mobile traffic stats yet. What are you telling potential prospects about mobile search volume? Are you using a percentage of the search traffic for desktops as a "best guess" or is there a better way?

The numbers are increasing every SINGLE month, so if they want their share, they need a mobiel site or their rival down the street will take them.

You can still get exact match search volume out of Keyword Planner. If you want to figure out broad match or phrase match, you can create a campaign in Keyword Planner, set match type, set a bid max bid, and then use impressions as a proxy for search volume.
