Best way to determine if they have a mobile site
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I have seen too many things out there and my HEAD IS SPINNING!

Can someone tell me, other then typing an URL into a smartphone, what is the most accurate thing out there for determining if a business has a separate mobile site?

Could some kind soul please help me

Thanks,

Go WF!

you can use tools like Lead Kahuna to search for contacts in a certain niche and locality, then filter by mobile website (the tool has a powerful filter).

there are probably other ways & tools. This is the one I use.

hope this helps

use a plugin like mobile barcode for firefox - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/fir...bile-barcoder/ and simply pull the site up on your desktop, fire up the plugin and then scan the qr code on your phone.

Viewing a mobile site on your actual phone is really the only 100% accurate way of testing if a site has a mobile version or not.

Most tools i have come across can't accurately distinguish between the site being responsive, or adaptive (RESS), or if it redirect to a standalone domain or subdomain.

It's not impossible to do but really does need some visual assistance - we have something that does this that basically takes a screenshot of the url based under different parameters ie with and without user agents being sent but its not something that is publicly available.
