Basically, unlimited amount of methods... With mobile marketing you can do anything you can do on the internet - websites, blogs, SEO, media buying, social media, email marketing, etc.... anything basically... plus you have so many new methods with mobile like Push notifications, SMS, location based, rich media marketing and many many more... Moreover, there are tons of different ways to do each method.... funnels, LPs, creatives, etc. THIS WORLD IS HUGE ! though if you're just starting, I'd recommend you to focus on one or two methods the most and totally control those. once you do, you'll be able to expand your activity to other methods as well. Good Luck. |

Mobile marketing is massive. Everyone loves phones, it is an easy pitch, and makes sense. It just comes down to how many business owners you can reach and what kind of numbers you are doing on the backed. Now is the time to get into this business.

USSD - Unstructured Supplementary Service Data is the next big thing.....it is been in the market for quite some time....but yet to take up as major option ...........good thing about it is it does not require an internet connection to operate and same time it does not save any customer data.....

As people have already stated, there are many methods you can use in mobile marketing. What method or channel you choose depends largely on what you want to accomplish: 1. Is it to capture user information or build an audience? 2. Do you want to be able to broadcast a message to an existing audience enticing them to take immediate action? (For example a restaurant that's experiencing a slow day and wants to drive more immediate traffic.) 3. Are you wanting to be found in searches people do while on the go? 4. Do you want to give your customers access to your service and/or promotions in a convenient manner? 5. Etc. Once you know what you want to accomplish it is easier to determine which channels are the most suitable. If you find this space to be too vast and confusing, feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to give you some pointers. Note: While mobile apps in many ways are a great tool, and allow for features or interactions beyond what you can get from a website, it does not mean that an app is the right thing for every business. Apps compete for space on peoples phones, and so they need to be relevant and interesting. More importantly, they need to provide an ongoing value to the customer if they are not to fall into the category of over 90% of apps which are deleted in the first 30 days. Considering the time and money to develop a decent app, and the effort to market it, other alternatives may be better. One alternative is a mobile optimized website, another, which has not been mentioned in the posts above, is a Passbook pass (technology by Apple, also available on Android through the PassWallet app), which for many businesses would cover their needs. Passbook passes still require development, but can also be created through services like PassExpress at a very affordable rate. Regardless of method, make sure it truly is optimized for mobile viewing, meaning for example no websites where you have to pinch and zoom in to be able to read the content or access menu bars. |

We syndicate pre-roll and in-banner video ads from adap.tv for both mobile and desktop. The desktop is booming beyond our core business and we are just beginning to promote the mobile. Mobile standards (ways of doing things) need to come together (instead of being so fragmented) for better coverage for both advertisers and publishers. Video is a lot bigger than we thought it would be and mobile video will be too.
