The one I use support both sms and emails. I just log in and manage my autoresponder or broadcast messages same as I do emails with Aweber.

SMS texting is very responsive. Over 90% of people will open every text message versus getting 10% open rates on e-mails. There are many methods to collect numbers, but as mentioned above - do NOT include anyone on a text list esp with auto-texters without permission.

Sometimes, you just have to get creative with the positioning and offers to get new subscribers (and in very rare creative cases, use a "one-time" text response from a personal phone [not autotexter] to people who are already expecting to receive information from you to generate them as a mobile or e-mail subscriber.)

I would suggest you to market using application like whatsapp and hike than the marketing using SMS text because people are more using whatsapp than the text messages

Running sweepstakes, voting, embed tweeter and social, all of these cool features are definitely available thru professional sms services. there are some out there that can do that. My personal opinion is that sms marketing is the hot trend now. (that's why FB paid 15b for whatsup )
