Alright guys, hello, I've been reading a lot on here for a week or so and finally decided to make my first post. I have two questions concerning this business and I'll post them in separate threads. (Edit: other post is here.) I have read about several people saying they never leave their home in this business: they prospect, qualify, inform, and close over the phone. If the business needs more materials (table tents, posters, fliers, etc) they will send them in the mail. Then they send the invoice and boom... They have business. I would like to do this, as many of the businesses I would target would be considerably far from my home. I am not totally against traveling, but I see it as a waste of time and gas to be meeting with a prospect that may or may not buy. I read about people "selling" a presentation on the phone, and going to make the presentation in person with hopes of closing. Here is how I see it: mobile marketing is so simple, it can be fully explained quickly over the phone. If they want "more information," they simply are not interested and I should move on. Are these unrealistic expectations? Am I wrong here? Is it possible for these to be a totally work-from-home business? Is there anyone on here that does this? Your answers and opinions are greatly appreciated. |

Alchemist X yes of course you can do that. However, you can also resort to other means like giving away free eBooks for lead capture, sending out emails to your leads, affiliate marketing, run webinars, use QR Codes, and SMS campaigns. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Raymond. Do you do this yourself? I wouldn't mind writing eBooks or something, but then I would have to worry about SEO and traffic generation, etc. Cold calling seems to have the least hassle.

Hey there, totally not unrealistic. Most "big" guys established business owners, many work from home. You can totally close from your mobile, with a good app, and the tools needed this is definitely by far doable.

sure its possible, but put yourself in the shoes of your buying client, would you make a purchase that represents your business digitally over the phone? Not as likely unless the services you are offering are priced at a point where they would disregard the anxiety of making a purchase from someone you have never met in person. I believe that service can add more profits to your business, it is a simple formula. |

in person. People don't have less anxiety because of a price point. Easier to sell face to face then over the phone is a myth. Also, never ... ever take what you would or would not do into consideration when your building your system. Sales 101. You should go search around or re post this in the offline section. Lots of good sales people over there. Phone and door to door's. As a new to sales person, the worst thing you can do is listen to perception that comes across as fact. It will do you more harm then good. Good luck.

Also, can any of you answer this question? I have no replies to it yet. It's the only thing left that makes me afraid to start calling because I want to be as excellent and professional as I can.
