I got some information about SMS services but I am lost. My owner of a local pizza restaurant wanted me to get some pricing info for Twilio SMS services. First he wants to capture all his customers cell phone numbers by permission of course. Secondly he wants to use a company like Twillio to do it. I'm not tech savvy in this area and went to Twilio's website to get info but was confused over pricing. So in a nutshell how do you set up SMS messaging for your business and then how would you use Twillio or another similar service to send it. Thanks, Prentice |

Twilio gives you the ability to send and receive SMS messages using their API. Yes, you can use the tools inside Twilio to directly send messages, but it's pretty confusing. What you really need is a program created that uses the Twilio API so you have a dashboard where numbers are stored, messages are sent, messages are received etc. Does that make sense? |

Yes that helps. What kind of program offers that type of service?

I have used Twilio and OpenVBX for building SMS lists for my clients since 2011. OpenVBX is free and its really easy to set up flows to do what you want it to do. The advantage of Twilio is that the number you use for SMS can also be used to forward phone calls to the business. At only .75 cents per text, its extremely cheap to build a list and send out offers. The profit margins are huge. PM me if you have any questions or need help with this.
