I have a client who wants their customers to be able to buy their products online, including on their tablet/phone. They have an existing website but it's not optimized for phones and tablets, and they are not wanting a full re-design a this point, just a new mobile website where products can be purchased. My concern is staying PCI compliant, and keeping it all secure. I don't know how many people would actually buy using their phone/tablet but it's what the client wants. So how would I go about setting that all up? |

Does their current site offer online ordering? If so, do you know what shopping cart they're using? If not, there's quite a few options, but one of the best is using Stripe and their Stripe Checkout script: https://stripe.com/checkout Stripe handles all of the payment processing, so you don't have to worry about being PCI compliant. And their script is very mobile-friendly. |

Is it just one product then? Stripe sounds like a great option then. It would be very quick to get it running. |

Make sure they have a SSL cert for the domain, they should be fine giving extensions like blah blah.com/payment. Keep in mind SSL WONT cover sub-domains (ex. Payment.blahblah.com

I'd you get an SSL certificate specifically for a subdomain it will cover that subdomain. But yeah, a certificate for www won't cover a subdomain.
