Bizness Apps

Anyone out there currently using ba? I have been using them for quite awhile and I have way too many clients out there having major issues with apps and html5 sites. Just curious if anyone else was experiencing this. I am contemplating going to Seattle Clouds or somewhere else anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

I use a SC white label... BzzApps. Here's the WF link...
http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ndle-fire.html

It's pretty inexpensive compared to B.A. and works great. They just added geo fencing too. Andy (owner) at BzzApps is a great guy and really goes out of his way to help or answer any questions you may have.

Out of curiosity, what are the issues with B.A.? Also, how does their HTML5 mobi site builder work? Does generate the code and then you upload to host?

Thanks!

Baxter, I saw that thread after i started this one but thanks for the link. I looked into it and seems like a pretty viable option.

I really like building sites and apps with BA. However, many of the apps are non-responsive at times and random things stop working on the app. Yesterday, i had 2 mobile sites start showing the day as Sunday for everyday of the week for opening hours and the bad part is they do not have a fix for this. I'm sure someday it will get fixed but obviously my clients are not happy and its not something I can fix on my own because i am using their platform. They also just updated everything last week so that has caused some additional problems, but also some nice new features.

The mobile sites are just put onto a subdomain of my website /whateverbiz they can be very slow sometimes, but they are really easy to build and look great. So all you have to do is put in the re-direct code they provide on the clients site.

The last iffy thing is they do not have an open forum. If you want to post something it has to go through a moderator so the forum is pretty dead. I am wondering how many other people are having the same problems I am, but know way to know unless I make a thread somewhere like wf.

Wow! that would be a problem for sure.

Hopefully they will get everything straightened out ASAP for ya.

How well does their Geo-Fencing work? Do any of your clients use it?

It just was released last week so I haven't brought it to any clients yet but its pretty cool technology, it will only send the push notification once so people aren't being spammed. Oh and the fact they want to charge $50 per app to use the new source code on existing apps for iPhone. I definitely will not be building any more mobile sites with them, I will just use go mobi or whoever, plenty to choose from. I don't like things that I can't control.

Finally something I can contribute to!

Over the past year or so I went through about 5 of these services and didn't really have great results from any of them. I used BA, Conduit, Appmakr, Appsbar, InfiniteMonkies, and a couple of others that aren't coming to mind. They were all very similar, with Appsbar being terrible.

I found the apps were not worth the monthly fees these services charge. Because they code in HTML5 they are basically making websites and turning them into apps. The apps are ugly and it is painfully obvious from a customer's standpoint that they were made with a cheap app builder.

It boggles my mind that in this day and age there isn't something like WordPress or SquareSpace for building apps. Ideally free with the option of hosting or premium features.

One alternative I found that I suggest you try is called Rheti. The downside is that they are in private beta, so you have to get an invite, and it only make Android apps. It is free though which is a huge plus. The apps also look much better because they are native.

What didn't you like about BA? I almost went that route and I still think about using them at times but as I said earlier I use BZZApps (SC) and I really like it and use it regularly.

Thanks for a good, helpful first post!

Biznessapps has some pretty cool features, but personally I love SC platform. Biznessapps apps, look really goofy and childish to me. Plus, if you know how to code (or have a developer) you can incorporate your own coding into the app! Big bonus.. I own a white-lable and have a special for developers if you want to check it out PM me.

I agree with you about the 2 platforms producing apps with totally different looks. The SC platform seems to produce a more "corporate" look and BA seems geared more to the "Small Biz" look. I would say that BA has more of a web 2.0 look and feel to them which I personally like.

Your point about being able incorporate your own code is a good one and I think a lot of people don't realize how important that can be. I don't code but it is nice to know that if a situation comes up and I need a more custom solution, the option is available using SC.

So Baxter, Thanks I signed up with Bzzapps and have been playing around with it the past week or so. So the main differences I see with BA and SC are that SC has a bit more of a learning curve. With BA they automate a lot of the process of gathering info they get while scraping your website, but its nothing some cut and paste won't fix. There is definitely so much more you can do with SC and a whole lot cheaper.

After playing around with my new test apps there is no way I would ever build any apps that are not native again. I never realized how much smoother and faster they are. If you have ever tried to pitch a BA app with a slow or lack of internet connection it a tough sale to make lol, trust me on that one. Plus with the SC platform you own the apps you build for life which is a huge thing.

Re: Bizness Apps

Hey guys, this is my first post but I had to chime in as I've been using Bizness Apps for the past 4-months, after researching literally EVER other platform Seattle Clouds, AppMakr, Conduit, AppyPie -- all terrible. As of now I have 23 live apps and growing. My only suggestion is to just compare live apps of every platform. Here's some that persuaded me. You can just see the quality compared to the others.

Bizness Apps:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/taco...418772908?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/id543696219?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fron...671020981?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/nobl...574000060?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cila...833923423?mt=8

Seattle Clouds:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/swim...411915055?mt=8
Go to their gallery as well -- you'll notice a ton of apps are no longer live, likely because they were canceled by the business, this deterred me.

Conduit:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wilm...9099?ls=1&mt=8
Check out conduits gallery as well - ugh.

Other platforms seem to just have features that enable you to create an app for the sake of having an app -- businesses need a real return on investment to buy into an app and that is HARD to prove when all you're working with is content features with other platforms.

Just my 2 cents. Obviously a bizapps fan here. Their CS rocks as well.

@ indiana141 Do you have any actual live apps I can see? Or are you part of the Bizness Apps Forum? I feel like most resellers struggle with just getting over 1 issue -- or are too concerned with price and head to SC, then never get a single app live. Had a buddy argue with me on this and I was right. Went to SC, thinking he was going to sell 10000 apps, never sold 1. Best product always wins.

I'm Jonathan123 on the bizapps forum if you'd like to see my live apps or connect. Tons of sales strategies that work being shared over there. Or at least ones that worked for me. Hard to hear you're having issues, and anytime I've had any at BA the support cleans it up fast.

I gave ba 30 days to fix the problems that I had been having and they didn't get it fixed. I deleted every app I had built with them and re-built them on the sc platform. (yea fun I know) There is apparently a huge turnover with the staff at bizapps. I am not sure why but one of the guys I spoke to there explained this to me.

Having said that, I really loved their platform but the product sucked! Knowing what i know now, I would have never started with them. If you ever decide to leave them your apps go away unless you want to pay a monthly fee or whatever. Also, when I am pitching apps to local businesses I don't want to need to have an internet connection for the app to work. That is a serious problem.

Feel free to im me on here would love to discuss marketing apps etc. Oh yea here is a tip, click cancel on your bizapps subscription and they will cut the monthly fees in half and give you more apps at no cost.

Oh wow -- very surprised to hear. Can you send me links to your live Seattle Cloud apps? I want to compare to my live Bizness Apps mobile apps. I checked our SC in detail & just thought they were a cheap copy-cat but maybe I was wrong. I've also asked clients which design they prefer and consistently get the BA design & interface preference from clients over SC.

As for customer service, did you not get a dedicated account manager? I had a great one from the start that would call me just to check in on sales. Maybe it's just my opinion but I feel bizapps cares about their resellers success more than any other company so I doubt I'd ever switch.

If possible, can I compare apps? And what is the main feature you sell to your clients? The geo-fencing feature for me literally drops jaws for business owners. They can have customers receive messages when they are just within blocks of their business. It's pretty cool.

I resell mobile apps for a company called Bizness Apps. Not affiliated at all, just a fan and supporter.

I also noticed your website and customer panel, created with Bizness Web I'm gussing? Still has all of bizness apps features and images.

http://www.blueduckmarketingonline.com/industries

I also noticed your bizness apps portal is still up....
http://apps.blueduckmarketingonline.com/login.php

All of these are Bizness Apps features!
http://www.blueduckmarketingonline.com/features

Not to be a big ol bizapps fan boy here but it seems you're still marketing their product and your now on seattle clouds? i dont get why you switched when your website looks great... and i know seattle clouds doesnt provide websites too do they?

PS - I think I found your apps, and all seem to be built on Bizness Apps since all SC apps have that weird refresh button at the top left. I can tell everytime. Correct me if I'm wrong, just super curious here as I want to sell the best apps possible and I think the best ive found is bizapps. Plus you gotta check out their new forum man I think it's what you were missing, it's pretty new. http://www.biznessappsforum.com -- its private tho so if you're not a reseller anymore i dont think they let u in.

^^ If you had all these apps updated with their new layouts from Bizness Apps 4 these apps would be niceeeeee looking. Plus you'd get the geo-fence feature, which is insane. PM me if you want Andrew the CEO's email. I had an issue one time with an older app and the guy is super nice and updated one of my apps totally free. Just a thought...

Those apps you posted are the apps from ba, so I am not sure what you mean by picking out SC apps. I just very recently took them down. No I haven't changed my website either yet, its not a priority. Its just a wordpress site.

I have the CEO's email. It doesn't change the fact that they can't get their apps to function correctly. I hope it doesn't happen to your apps but when you have random things like the opening hours for a business that don't show up correctly for almost 2 months its a major problem. I was getting calls from clients a few times a week about something with the app not working correctly (always different random things). So I made the change. That is what you risk by putting your business in the hands of a third party. There is no way you can tell me that pages in your app don't freeze up constantly. I got so frustrated with things going wrong that I couldn't control, that I was no longer even comfortable selling them, so I was just selling marketing/seo for a few months.

By the way SC platform has so much more to offer and heck of a lot cheaper.

Ah man sorry to hear that man. Never ran into that issue, ever.

So do you have any LIVE seattle cloud apps at the moment?

I thought you rebuilt them? All i see are bizness apps mobile apps under your developer name where all your apps would be, which is why i brought them up. I want to compare because I haven't had a single issue with BA and want to make sure im offering my clients the best solution out there.

Also what are you going to say when your clients see nothing but bizness apps material on your website then offer them SC apps? Just curious... BA design using iOS 7 elements is so mcuh cleaner.

PS -- all of your apps made under BA are still up FYI. They have not been taken down. Why don't you just ask BA for free updates? Can't hurt and then still use SC & let your clients pick. I bet after seeing this thread and your experience they'd update them free using the ios7 bizapp4 look & features. Email andrew dude I guarantee he'd step in to fix this - at least I hope. Product took a HUGE leap forward with bizapps 4 and recently too.

They are still in the review phase to be replaced. I have a whole different website I am moving over to soon, not that it matters. I layed out my issues with BA on this thread, so others can see my experience with them. Why in the world would I want to go back there for an inferior product for my clients?

I guess agree to disagree. Feel free to PM me to share any mobile app sales tips man, we're in the same business here.

I downloaded all your apps so I'll check out your updates when they come through. Looking forward to comparing side by side!

Best of luck to you man!

Not sure if this helps but I just switched from Conduit to Bizness Apps.

I had some troubles with their platform. See an app made recently in Bizness Apps -- happy so far. Will update if I run into problems. I sell in international markets, so they help so far.

@Jonathan12345 I'm "InnovateNOW" on the Bizness Apps forum. See you around.

Nice app man! What language is that? What country are you selling in?

Check out this app made for a local studio using custom buttons. Might be a good demo app for you to use since it seems like you're selling to DJs / Artists...

Sure here's a couple of my most recent clients using Bizness Apps 4.0:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/west...879124629?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/inve...878237264?mt=8

I try & have all my clients register their own developer account so they own the app. In apple's eyes the owner of the developer account is the owner of the app, but the monthly fee is still required. I explain this in detail.

And for most of my sales I charge about a $2000 set up fee with a $50/month fee for access to the geo-fence push note system, detailed analytics, and ability for them to edit the app.

Let me know what you think! Any feedback would be appreciated. I'm trying to break into the Church niche a bit as there is a great need in that industry -- plus it helps grow churches membership / attendance / community which can be a bit rewarding personally.

Yea, i agree trying to get them get their own developer accounts. Your price points are around the same as mine. I like to try to package deals with marketing etc with them. Churches are a huge market, however not really the clientele I like to work with.

As of now I have 23 live apps and growing. My only suggestion is to just compare live apps of every platform. Here's some that persuaded me. You can just see the quality compared to the others.

Bizness Apps:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/taco...418772908?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/id543696219?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fron...671020981?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/nobl...574000060?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cila...833923423?mt=8

Seattle Clouds:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/swim...411915055?mt=8
Go to their gallery as well -- you'll notice a ton of apps are no longer live, likely because they were canceled by the business, this deterred me.

Conduit:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wilm...9099?ls=1&mt=8
Check out conduits gallery as well - ugh.

Other platforms seem to just have features that enable you to create an app for the sake of having an app -- businesses need a real return on investment to buy into an app and that is HARD to prove when all you're working with is content features with other platforms.

Just my 2 cents. Obviously a bizapps fan here. Their CS rocks as well.
Johnathon, you build apps using Bizness Apps?

Silvio;

I went to your site and I see a list of templates but not a list of features. What features do you have and, more importantly, how do you prove your ROI?

Thanks.

Jonathan;

I found a few glitches on the apps you mentioned. For instance, on the Tacolicious app you can't read the ordering page, it looks like a desktop web page on a mobile device. Also, on your West Hill app, the icons are on top the words Baptist Church. These may be mistakes by you and the Tacolicious designer and not flaws in the platform itself, or that just may be how they show up on my Droid.

This leads me to my bigger question, native apps or mobile sites. This has been debated here quite a bit. I tend to lean towards mobile sites in particular if you are doing it for local businesses as opposed to developing a niche app. You said in another post that mobile sites are for customer acquisition and apps are for retention and loyalty. Well, you can do loyalty and retention on mobile sites.

I'm not here to hijack the thread away from BA or native apps. I think both SC and BA have nice platforms and both have a few glitches here and there. I think BA is more user friendly for techno-idiots like me and I think SC has more options/features.

Ultimately, I'm still not convinced on native apps (vs. mobile sites) for local businesses. They may fit the bill for niche apps but I have no experience in that arena.

Just my 2 cents.

As far as the debate goes between mobile apps and mobile websites goes, I think both have their place in the market.

Mobile websites are great when you're doing a google search and it's absolutely critical that when you land on that web page, it's mobile optimized. But the best feature is typically click to call - simple but effective.

Mobile apps are great for customers that are repeat customers, and with mobile apps the name of the game is to entice them to use the app to encourage loyalty and engagement through features like stamp cards, community walls, mobile food ordering, mobile shopping, push notifications, accessibility, and more.

Mobile websites = customer acquisition.
Mobile apps = customer retention.

IMO both are equally important. Picking a side just leaves money on the table for any small business owner.

I resell mobile apps for a company called Bizness Apps. Not affiliated at all, just a fan and supporter.

Just email bizness apps and they'll send you a ton of demo apps for any industries.

You can then use their preview tool to show your potential clients even before signing up.
