I don't know much about mobile marketing, so i just wanted to know if it is worth learning it and spending time doing it?

Before jumping in I would really learn as much as you can about selling to small businesses to be honest, as that's the biggest issue you'll run into. This inlcudes the value proposition on why mobile is important and will show a return on investment to businesses.

Mobile marketing is an absolute necessity to small businesses, so yes there is good money to be made in the mobile app / mobile website market. However, more than anything, you're going to need to have a solid plan & sales strategy to be successful at anything. So make sure you have those things in line before you jump into the next "GET RICH WITH MEGA MOBILE TRAINING PACKAGE!!!!!!" gimmick -- because those don't work.

What I'm trying to say here is yes there's money to be made but there's no secret besides hard work and finding a product to sell that shows real value to SMBs.

Even if you reach a teeny tiny percentage of all the mobile users in the world, and only a small fraction of them buy the product you're marketing, you'll still earn thousands of dollars a month doing relatively little.

All i hear are the cliches like exponential growth and outstanding future and great potential and blah-blah-blah. The truth is simple. There is a lot of money that can be made with mobile marketing, but you have to work very hard - yes, another cliche. The competition is fierce. And i have a bit of a feeling this money shower that the developers are splashing into games/apps promotions, it will end in a big burst. Just like the Internet bubble did a decade or so ago. To cut to the point, shake that butt and start making money on mobile before it's too late!

It's worth it only if you're ready to put in the necessary hours of work and study to hone your skills and put them to good use. Like with anything, really. SMS marketing isn't a "get rich quick" deal, never was and never will be. But the potential earnings from people who have signed up to receive *advertising straight to their phone* are enormous and, in my opinion, more than compensate for the amount of effort you have to put in.
