Any ideas how too be forward?
 

I want to offer local sms services to business. I don't want to sell apps or responsive sites. I want to offer simple marketing solutions. I think business appreciate simplicity. I'm just looking to supplement income and maybe my wife can take over and maintain.

I spoke to trumpia. From what I gathered the up front cost for their reseller program starts all in $3500. I have to purchase 300000 txt credits for 3000 and the software cost 500 that I have to integrate into my site. ( yup I don't even have a site! Why don't I have site?! I wanted to see my initial investment before I committed to having a site designed. Also I'm doing market research to gauge interest levels from small business owners around my areas.

I'm considering selling an automated version. After i sign up a client i won't manage their systems. I want to be hands off. And for that reason I want to offer small monthly fees in the 20-30 dollar range. Maybe even sell the txt at cost. I feel the I can sell the business owners on how effective mobile marketing and when they hear an affordable monthly fee it would be an easier sale. Of course I would entertain the idea or managing their campaign for a fee but a lot of business owners are price conscious so I don't want to scare them off with large fees.

Again I'm talking about small town pizza shops and hair salons and car washes and local restaurants. That's my market. The business owners after they sign up with me would be responsible for harvesting their own numbers and upload into my system. They would blast their own txt messages. Again I'm not looking to make a killing but if I can make 2k a month once up and running off an initial investment of 5k or so....that's a nice return on my money!

You obviously have a good idea of what you want to do, but you might consider another option when starting out. There are some offerings where you can get started for much less money down. In fact a few have free trials for the first month. You can always scale or change services once you have some consistent income.

Just a thought if you want to ease into this market.
