  • Elephants are intelligent and really make good moms. It was amazing how quickly two of them came to the baby's rescue.

    • YEAH! I wonder WHO came for the kid. Was it two mothers? The parents? STILL, it seemed like others were at the ready. It is my understanding that the whole herd is there to help. APPARENTLY, theyeven have a way to communicate with other herds at a far distance. And humans think THEY are so great. We really know SO little.

  • If you have the time, I really suggest you watch this video; all of it:

  • Yeah,I saw it before, but it doesn't hurt to see it again. I ALSO recently saw one with a moose at a salt lick. Her calf came up, and things were quiet. A couple wolves came to attack the calf, but the mother was aware of it(she had her back to them), and gave one a swift kick. She ended up taking both wolves on. They were scared away, and her calf was fine.

  • If only they can unite against external aggression like these, there causalities will be all time low.
  • Quick - delete this thread.

Before you know it someone will come along and point out how the adult elephants allowed the baby to fall before rescuing it. This is clearly child abuse and the adults should be charged, convicted and jailed.

The baby will grow up traumatised and when he/she starts mixing with other young elephants they'll pick on him/her mercilessly over this incident.
