Found this, interesting!

PS if anyone lives near here, take a video camera along, if you decide to take a hike?

Oh, and plenty of water apparently?

That's a relief. I felt sure you were going to say it had been filmed on Mars.

Thanks - I love that show. I just recently found a copy of the series online without the canned laughter. It gives it a whole different feeling when you watch it.

      Better or worse?

I would guess a lot better. The movie was absolutly great in any case.

Yes, the laughter tracks got a bit, tacky sitcoms type feel, after a while, and l wish they weren't there, but l can get access to the lot without that, so it isn't that big a deal!

A lot better than the tv version, cut the crap out of it, and shove in some more add's, grrrrrrrr!

They aren't even available in library's in my state, since everyone, (including me) has rented and played them to death, or at least until the DVD got so thin, it wouldn't play or easily snap in two!

MASH, l think will always be popular, especially since AU, is a ghostown at present!

Unless you cough up for Foxtel, or this black box or the other black box, then not a problem!

I get a nostalgic feel that I like when I watch the old ones with the canned laughter. However it feels cheesy with the fake laughter.

Without the canned laughter if feels more classy. More like the work of art that it really was. Still just as funny though. I don't think it's necessary to tell an audience when to laugh.

It was originally shown in the UK without the laughter track. However, recent reruns now have the added version - it sounds awful!

Yes, there is a noteworthly element there for current sitcoms, especially the ones that are played 3 times a day!

But some of the one liners in this show are brilliant!

You ever had one of those wars where everything goes wrong? -- Hawkeye
Meanwhile, Aunt Martha, having taken a tramp through the woods, lies in a ditch on the edge of town... -- Hawkeye
        Hawkeye Quotes

The other one, is where he says, "Hoho, the elixer of life for my men, and water for our horses".

Brilliant, modern trashy comedys could learn a thing or two from this one, with their predictable script writing!

MAN! I lived SO CLOSE to places I knew NOTHING about until a few years before I left. This was one of them!

But YEAH, why film a thing like Mash in Korea? There were jokes, etc... and many might find it offensive. And it would be a long distance and all for NOTHING.

In related news, Star Trek wasn't filmed in outer space.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Yea, l know l have watched the whole series over and over, and just thought it was filmed there, eventhough as you were saying not really viable!

They certainly used similar set locations a few times, and actors for that matter!

I keep seeing the guy with the glasses all over the place! The one that cut the rope to the Officers Latrine when Frank Burns was reading Stars and Stripes. He was a patient as well!

No, Curiosity is moving around in the Navada Desert, a few miles from Vegas, and a few props placed here and there to keep us guessing! The fluffy bunnies tend to sneak in now and then!

      Pffttt!

Next you'll be telling us The Lord Of The Rings wasn't filmed in Middle Earth, or Game Of Thrones isn't filmed in Westeros.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

My best friend in high school was a junkie for the original Star Trek. He knew each episode so well he could tell you when there was about to be a floor board creak or something.
