How long before someone cashes in on Ebola???

The media already has the country and world scared to death, how long before the vaccine comes out? All it takes is a phone call from some fat cat pharmaceutical company to Rupert Murdoch, and the fear mongering begins.

I don't buy the timing of all this Ebola thing. All you hear on the news or radio is EBOLA RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!! and it's only a handful of people who contracted it. Ebola is serious, but I don't buy all the crap the media is dishing out. Now that the media has everybody running for cover, how long before these big pharmaceutical companies break out the vaccine?

Instead of finding solutions to problems, maybe IMer's should prey on people fears, it far more lucrative. It's a shame we don't have friends in the media, or we'd all be billionaires.

It was on the news today, and I don't remember where. Someone sold ebola.com to a "marijuana company" for around $200,000.

Since the beginning of ebola in the US there have been sites cashing in with conspiracy theories and supposed cures and all sorts of junk....on pages filled with outlandish ads.

They are cashing in on fear in the guise of "infomation".

Other people are pushing their "anti" this or that book or idea or product and linking it in some way to the fear of ebola.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

NaturalNews.com sure is. I like his site for analysis of products - he runs a lab and they are really good with that. I like some of the natural products he has, too -- BUT..........
This guy goes absolutely wiggy sensationalist on a lot of stuff. Ebola is one of them, but then he's got his 8 part series survival guide at the root of the obsession and sensation.

It's actually ebola that has people scared. The media is only doing their job covering it.

You must read and watch different news than I do. The news I read is an accurate reporting of the ebola news and what CDC and the gov is doing to help prevent a spread in the US.

The vaccine is coming and coming soon and I am very glad for that. Let's just say that at least one of the vaccines works and prevents ebola from happening. End of ebola story. Good all around. So your conspiracy theory is that this ebola "thing" cropped up to make pharm companies developing ebola vaccine rich? ha ha .... good one. If they get rich by stopping ebola good for them. Some people get rich by scams and identity theft and fraud. I'd choose getting rich from helping humanity over that any day.

Like many don't do that. Too funny. There's already been some "Ebola" WSOs (at least one that I saw)

Should be out pretty soon. US has the patent on development. Nasdaq reports that the gov awarded pharm Tekmira a $140 million contract. Tekmira's partner happens to be Monsanto. They are building a vaccine.

Cause and effect, coincidence, I don't care. I don't like the whole thing just from who the three partners here are. Whether we ever see an outbreak or not - I do NOT like that partnership. It makes my blood run cold. It's the most unholy alliance that I've heard of since we were bankrupted by FDR in the thirties. Holy cow. Mussolini would be absolutely gobsmacked impressed with this one.

The US is not running the show in the vaccine arena. The vaccine that was just shipped out to WHO and has been found effective in preventing ebola in apes was shipped from Canada. Germany and Russia are also ahead of the game and while the gov may have awarded a contract to Tekmira, they are only one of the vaccine players.

Heart disease, Cancer, Chronic lower respiratory diseases, Stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Diabetes, Influenza and Pneumonia, Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis, are the biggest killers in the US, and you hardly ever hear the media talking about. When you hear this much hype and fear mongering about a disease that's only killed a few people here in the U.S, you can bet it is all in the name of profits.

They don't have to be, they have the biggest customers.

    1) Terrify the people, via the press (check)
    2) Have some of your buddies come out with the vaccine (in progress)
    3) Have Americans rush to get it (waiting for the vaccine to come out)
    4) Sit back and laugh your way to the bank (quieting laughing at the moment)

Here ya go. Liberator already posted some great examples of real profiteering from ebola. Those would be a bunch of Internet Marketers doing this in the following links.

Do you actually know what the word "news" means. Those other diseases ... ho hum. Been around forever. Ebola just came to the US for the first time ever .... do you not think that's news?

I guess you think that people who take years of research and development and millions of dollars to develop vaccines should do it for free. Right?

I look forward to the several vaccines that will be available to end the death and suffering from ebola and I hope the companies that make them get rich as shit from it.

For a long time, almost every MLM product sold, had someone say it cured cancer. I'm sure the "cure for Ebola" will be next...unless there actually is a cure or vaccine developed. And then it won't be news anymore.

You are missing the point completely, you are going on with crap that has nothing to do with what I'm saying. Nobody said anything about doing it for free. I am saying, that the press is purposely over hyping this, for some pharmaceutical company to cash in on it. Ebola has been around for years, you mean to tell me now is the best time to come out with a vaccine??? Now that the ebola market has opened up in the US, the media is doing what they do best, scare the people out of their money.

I'm not even talking about scammers online, looking to scam people out of pennies, I am talking about one big company with friends in the media, making billions of dollars from it.
