Taco Bell (YUM) has a 10-year plan to double revenue to $14 billion, most of it from launching thousands of new stores. Here's an additional way the chain is trying to get customers to spend more: It launches a mobile app today, Tuesday, Oct. 28, that encourages people to spend additional dollars to soup up their tacos and burritos.

The app will also feature deals that aren't listed on restaurant menus.
My thinking is that if this "works" to any degree, you can expect the whole food industry (not only fast-food) to tweak this model.

Just my opinion.

Taco Bell is one of the few fast food restaurants that I like but I don't see myself downloading an app for it or ordering from an app.

      That's the spirit!

At least they are food, (well Frankenstein food) well the Big Mac is actually classified as a sweet, but it has pickles in it, so scrapes by as food!

Yes, nothing like walking into one of their stores, and having to stuff around with a dumb app, so you can go up and put more extra hot chilly sauce on your chicken!

Why is this so surprising? After all, Taco Bell will be the only survivor of the Great Franchise War in the coming future...
