Thank you to all warrior member veterans. For your sacrifice, service and keeping us safe. So we can all have the 'freedom' to participate in the W.F. I'd be honored if you check in and identify yourself.

Give branch of service you represent. Let's do a roll call.

For example: I'm U.S Air Force 1974 to 1978

I kissed my beautiful Marine this morning and thanked him.

    So proud of him!

Kiss him for me too. A group of Marines saved our butt more than once. Tell him "Semper Fi" for me.

        Thanks Niche Man!

I'm a bad wife though! I TOTALLY forgot the Marine Corp. birthday yesterday! I always remember.

I'll tell him when he comes back, he's out at the barn right now.

US Navy 80s - Medic on a guided missile destroyer, USS John Paul Jones

PS I've never kissed a marine (not that there's anything wrong with that)

US Air Force, 75-80. I extended a year so I could go to Germany. Well worth it. I was a technician on electronic warfare systems; also called electronic countermeasures (ECM).

Well, I've kissed several Marines when I was much younger. My brother and my uncle.

I have to tell you about my uncle, the Marine. He joined in 1943. I don't know if he served in the Pacific during WW2. But he saw combat in Korea and Vietnam. He retired with 27 years service. I'm very proud of him.

I have another uncle who was in the 101st Airborne, US Army. He made the jump into France the day before D-Day. The band of brothers thing. He survived the war only to be killed in a construction accident in the early 60s. An elevator fell on him. I'm very proud of him, too, along with other relatives who served in the military.

I saw this and thought it really just needed to be shared for VDay.

This is a soldier coming home and meeting his daughter for the first time.

Thank you soldier - you raise your daughter now. We'll take over from here.

      Greetings.

      U.S. Army, 3rd Infantry Division and 25th Infantry Division. USA - '66, Germany - '67, Vietnam - Tet Offensive of '68.

Many thanks to those that emailed or PM'd me. You are most kind and I am deeply touched - and more than a bit surprised. :-)

      Cheers. - Frank

That's a touching scene. I'm sure he's not only touched by seeing his daughter for the first time, but also remembering how some of his comrades won't see their child.

Niche Man - being in fresh from a war, I can imagine a million things that might be going through his head. Pictures are worth what...1000 words they say? I'm not sure I want to know most of those things. I'm glad that I've never had to be put in a position to know. It makes me angry that he and so many millions have been.
