Thanks for clearing that up. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my son always takes pictures of the food!

But I understand now...it's from taking those photography classes while going to college for graphic design.

Those came from the web but they are the flavors I served... I have taken roughly 1 million photos but only a handful were food pictures.

Unless photos of turkeys in my yard and ducks on the river count!

Maybe I can count deer and pheasant?

I would not eat that beautiful Chinese pheasant though!

I never knew that Americans called blackberries 'black raspberries'. I hope the picture with the piece of shriveled berry pie isn't portraying ropey pies in general (the apple pie looks a bit past it's best too!) because the slice of pumpkin pie on that plate is the only one on the page that looks just like the ones I make. I admit to being a terrible cook though, so it wouldn't surprise me that much

Despite the fact that I've been making a pumpkin pie every Halloween for the last twenty years or so, I have no real idea what they're supposed to look like because nobody else I know has ever made one. We do the 'decorating everything with pumpkins and making pumpkin lanterns' thing for Halloween in the UK (something we must have borrowed from the US, because apparently it was always turnips here), but making pumpkin pie just hasn't caught on. The only time pumpkins are available in the shops here is in the two weeks leading up to Halloween - tons and tons of them. The next day there are no more pumpkins anywhere, and won't be for another year.

It bothers me a bit that people are buying all this food and not actually eating it.

My recipe does have a picture of a pumpkin pie next to it, sitting in the shadows cast by a carved pumpkin lantern so you can't really see it properly. If the pumpkin pie on that plate is as iffy as a lot of the rest of them look then I am going to have to be employing a fair bit of candle light in future each year too

Black raspberries and blackberries are two different fruits.

How do you tell the difference between a blackberry and black raspberry? The most obvious difference is that a black raspberry is hollow -- the core of the fruit stays on the plant when it is picked, while the core stays in a blackberry. Black raspberry fruit are also smaller, less shiny, and have a bluish waxy coating between the sections of the berry.

The easiest way to tell the difference between the two is by the core, where the stem attaches to the berry. Blackberries will always have a white core, whereas black raspberries are hollow in the center (just like raspberries).

Blackberries and black raspberries are 2 different berries all together. Every once in a while you will hear black raspberries called blackberries, but that is a case solely of the person not knowing the difference.

Oregon is the epicenter of blackberries. You'll never find more wild black raspberries than in CA - from the stockton area on N. All the black raspberries in OR are on farms.

We're very slow to adopt anything new here - in my house, anyway. About eighteen months ago I picked up some reduced-price potatoes while I was out shopping. The next day, I was walking through the kitchen just as my husband was about to peel them (he does most of the cooking here because my cooking really is dismal). He was complaining that they were purple to which I replied with confidence 'Stop moaning. It's just the skins. They'll be perfectly normal inside'. They weren't. This was what was dished up in front of me about an hour later...

Yup. Purple spuds. I'm only still trusted to do the shopping because he's too busy doing the cooking. Well, 'trusted' is probably stretching it

They taste just like ordinary potatoes, but we did find them a bit dry and my husband says he thinks they need more butter and milk than usual if you're going to mash them.

@andrewducker is not the original source...it appears as if he was just tweeting it under fair use doctrine. In-fact he reblogged that blurry image to his tumbler blog on the 30th from the best-of-imgur tumbler blog that had grabbed it from the imgur site on the 29th.

Genuine fair use in general does not require attribution, a site (especially a for profit site) built on curation better include attribution if they want to stay on the semi-safe and legal side, and even then they may be walking the line. Sure attribution is given as a courtesy in many instances, like when I use a snippet from an article I always link the full article, but an attribution will not absolve you if a judge has deemed you have infringed copyright. If it's not fair use then permission or a license is needed, not an attribution (unless it is requested). Attribution is often given when quoting snippets of articles to avoid plagiarism charges which is altogether different than copyright violations.

Consequential copyright law and fair use doctrine rulings have been few and far between lately, leaving quite a wide gray area, and this is one of the reasons we have seen such a massive growth in aggregators and curated sites.
