Right now I'm so excited and surrounded by boxes and bubble wrap!

We won't be able to move in until mid January, but I've got lots of stuff I can pack. I'm working on heirlooms from Grama first. They're antique and breakable.

I have a custom made oak shoe tree that holds 40 pair of shoes. Hubby said that's all I can keep. That means the two trunks and the entry way closet I also have shoes in will have to go. I have a large walk-in closet and two of the spare bedroom closets full of clothing, so I'll have to downsize those as well, but that certainly won't leave me nekked, lol!

I guess I'll start with the evening wear, 100 sets of scrubs and business attire.

Don't tell your hubby this, but I went to put on a pair of shoes today that I haven't worn in years... hahahhaa.. they're brand new! I remember why I don't wear them!

You know what else makes me happy? Remember in my other thread how I told you Hubby said we were going to offer them 6 grand more than what they were asking for the place? Well, it was all a numbers game. He asked for 3% seller concessions and a $500 home warranty, so we actually only are paying them $400 over their asking price. But it did the trick, we won the bid!

Congrats Terra. I never saw this thread before now. It's good to get something you really want and I'm happy for you.

By the way, head over to a Target or Kmart. They have plastic bins in a lot of sizes, like ones that can fit under the bed for your shoe collection and folded clothing you really want to keep....

I've not seen these at either place, but probably one of the mail order joints have hangers where you can use one hanger over the rod and there are 3 to 6 more hangers suspended from the first one...Sometimes the regular stores have these for pants as well. Oh, and don't forget the inside the door to the closet shoe holders, too.

Just some naughty little ideas to help you keep your favorite stuff. A woman's gotta have her things.

Update:

Yes!!

I spent the first half of the day over at the new house while all of the inspections were being done. I scheduled them all the same day so as not to have to be there multiple times.

Excellent well, septic, and complete home inspection results. No radon, no mold, no pests ~ furry critters or creepy crawlers.

The last step is the bank appraiser coming Tuesday and according to Real Estate specs, the house is worth much more than we paid for it, so see no problems there.

Sooo, closing will be set for the 30th of this month and we'll have keys in hand!

Oh, and I went and bought a brand new Riccar R 20 D vacuum after the inspections.

Now, I'm wondering what I'll get for Christmas, haha!

If she can get the pole barn cleaned up in time, that's not a bad idea. I'm sure the previous owners loved hanging around in there.

I know the address - should we just surprise her? Plenty of parking.

I think I'll wait for summer since you're just going to want to go tromping around in that swamp. New Year's party just sounds so awesome, though. Anyone's - anywhere. I highly think you should hijack your crowd and party there before it's furnished.

We actually do have New Year's Eve plans for there.

Kewl. I know if it were me, it would be champagne and sleeping bags on New Years Eve. Although I don't make resolutions - I have strong feelings about new outlooks coming around with the change of a year.
