If you don't have kids, and you want to change the settings
on your smart phone, who does it for you?

      I can't say...

My kids are the ones who change my settings, lol!

They try and teach me as they go along, but I always end up leaving out a key step or even a small one. It then doesn't work for me and I have to call them up. They're grown and on their own now.

I don't think I'd want a phone that was smarter than me. I have a phone - push button numbers, don't text me. Leave a message. I might get back to ya and I might not. If I want a compter - it's right in front of me.

Sorry - I don't get it. I'd rather live outside of a microwave grid. Everyone rise up and turn you cellphones and pads in......get a land line! Come on ....we can do this .....right?

    LOL sob.

I only wanted a cell phone that was just a phone, it had text features too though and my kids love to text! I hate texting and would never text them back explaining that I want to talk. So they got me a smart phone for my birthday/Mother's Day with the feature of speech to text so I could text them back, but talk, haha!

So changing my settings is the price they have to pay, lol!

Bravo. Glad to hear there's someone else in the world that feels the same way I do.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

Well, unless you get some SEVERE brain disease/disorder, like alzheimers or parkinsons, I don't know if there will EVER be a phone, or even computer, as smart as you are. If people think intelligence is as simple as memorizing a book, they are fooling themselves. Computers still couldn't pass the simplest of IQ tests.

I wouldn't want a land line, and my customers wouldn't like it as much, but you have a definite point about microwaves. It has been said, and may be true, that a radar up close could render one sterile. True or not, we know that if it is high enough intensity, it can COOK almost anything!

Around WWII, some people realized something many kids of my generation quickly found out. They found out that radio signals could follow like a straight line. If something blocked that line, the signal would abruptly change. They found out about it, modified it, and came up with RADAR! That helped give the allies some extra time in WWII. They could scramble their aircraft, and be ready for a fight rather than see planes blown up.

Just after the war, it is said that a person left a chocolate bar near some radar equipment, and it melted. That soon became the MICROWAVE OVEN. They MUST have realized in the 70s that this was bad, because people used flourescent tubes near the microwaves to test for radiation, and it was all over the place. They ended up putting a faraday cage around the cooking area to reduce the radiation. NOW, they freely use those waves in most radio wave type equipment. WIFI, wireless phones made after about 2000, Digital Cell phones, some WIFI type dongles(for mice, keyboards, etc...) etc.... The ONE saving grace, the ONE reason we aren't all fried, etc.... is that it is relatively low powered. Even RADARS, that may be as dangerous as I indicated, aren't used until the plane is generally fairly isolated, so the most dangerous part may be a mile away from the nearest person.
