Well, I read a little of it before I lost interest. When machines get dangerous, I'll start carrying magnets and weapons. Until then - I'll stick with computer and when needed a phone. Would not hurt my feelings to see the microwave grid come down at the very least.

      Avoid microwave ovens. Unwanted radiation.

Oh yeah. I NEVER microwave food. I'm still trying to figure out why people think eating irradiated food is anywhere near a good idea. Some of em even put the food in plastic before microwaving here in the states.

MAN, ANOTHER *****FLUFF***** piece! Give me a break. He didn't start it! Was it a low priced computer? YEP! Was it perhaps the lowest priced computer that was as capable? MAYBE! Was it the first, or did it speed up the industry at all? ********I DOUBT IT********!

HECK, they are even giving credit to Stephen Hawking for the Scare about AI! WHO was first? I have NO idea! But I can show you a very early example that is about as believable as they come! The AI was simply doing what a HUMAN in that circumstance could EASILY do! The same sort that many DO, but THIS AI threatened an entire "civilization" because of the scope of her(er ITS) actions. NO special strength! NO special skills! NO special tools! NO special knowledge! HECK, the most damaging part wasn't even due to her looks! The date? 1927! The movie? Metropolis! That was about 15 years before Hawking was BORN! Of course Issac Asimov, the terminator series, the matrix, etc... are all good contemporary examples. There are FOUR year olds running around that know better.

Heysal, The food isn't really "irradiated". It isn't even really "nuked". It isn't radioactive at all. Normal cooking is done through a heat source and a symptom is to cause the atoms in the food to vibrate, as they warm up. That is one reason why most things expand when heated, and likely why they can become liquid.

Microwave's do the cooking in REVERSE! They use MAGNETIC radiation to cause all the cells to vibrate which creates HEAT as a byproduct.

So microwaves CAN hurt you, and can cook things, but they don't leave residual radiation on the food.

As for the plastic? It is a container. Because of the high frequency magnetic shifts inside of a microwave, you can't really use metal, so you are basically left with glass and plastic. They use it to hold liquids and keep down splatter.
