Let Them Have Their Fire Hydrant

It is probably wisest not to openly disagree with a friend over topics which are neither here nor there in my daily life. At such a point, ego and maybe primitive fight modes kick in (even if only in a verbal manner). People, like dogs peeing on fire hydrants, sometimes stake their territory for the sake of staking their territory. It is something that I occasionally have to remind myself of. Let them have the fire hydrant. It is best to choose our battles carefully.

I suspect that you nearly always do, actually, and that the posts are therefore more reliable than the signature. "Just saying".

If you bequeath your brain to science I've a horrible feeling the gesture will be refused. Just saying

PS . . . I'll have the fire hydrant if you don't want it. Have you seen the price of scrap metal these days?

My mother will actually bring me a pair next week (but actually from Italy, not America) for Christmas.

They can cost over $2,000 (but those are few and far-between, and not for me, anyway). There are plenty of Louboutins around $1,300-$1,500 but there are also some sources of discounts of up to 50%, and on real ones, not cheap fakes that you can wear only once before the heels break.

(I don't necessarily mean "you" personally, though they do actually make some men's shoes, too.)

Well, Alexa - if you've been good (which I'm having a slight problem with being too quick to see having happened) - you might get a matching $1,500 Prada bag. I shall be completely humbled and lessened by knowing the most status-quo friendly accessory in my closet is a Dooney and Bourke.

I wasn't planning to bequeath my brain to science ,

Scrap metal fetches a fine price but the profit would be offset by fines and prison time for vandalizing and stealing city property.

Ooh, you're going to leave it to be auctioned off to add the residual value of your estate, for your beneficiaries???
