For me I think I'd go shopping the day after Christmas and give gifts for the Three Kings Day because I'm not getting paid till next week.

Anyone else?

You should have put a little by during the year then, shouldn't you. Or at least thought about it the past couple of months when you had money.

If everyone thought and acted like you then there wouldn't be any point in having Christmas, as no-one would get any presents.

I hope you get trampled in the sales you skinflint.

I've considered Orthodox Christmas as the gift-giving day myself. The sales before then will be great, but I don't think I could stand shopping for everyone in the after Christmas rush to return things. Finding sizes and colors, etc. could be extremely hard in all the mayhem.

While positivenegative is being a bit of a meanie, he's right that (and probably for most people), you should put a fund together for yourself during the year so there is enough money to catch the great sales before Christmas.

Figure out what you can cut out of your expenses, as well as reducing them so you aren't caught short next year to save for gifts. As for this year, can you set yourself a strict budget and charge the gifts so you get them now and then pay for them on the day you get paid instead?
