I almost posted this, and I forgot. Yeah, this looks legit, especially since a cop caught him, and hopefully it is. If so, then I am all for this happening.

This happened to me at least once because of some failing in the system, in Washington DC. The guy at the booth just let me in through another turnstyle. Though I did everything as best I could, my account makes it look like I jumped it. They let anyone exit with a basic fair, if no entry is known, but the lack of entry IS recorded. And I could see the same thing happening with toll roads. I was even on a road once that I HAD to go through, or else abandon my car in the middle of a busy freeway and shut it down. But apparently you aren't allowed to go through there without an electronic pass, which I didn't have at the time.

Interesting how some countries learned and enacted tough regulations for people running the banking system and some countries...didn't.

This had NOTHING to do with the banking system! It was a PUBLIC train, and a financial management company! Blackrock must be pretty big though. I have done business with it MYSELF! I don't believe I CURRENTLY have anything with them but, when I did, they did pretty well.

As for the US? The US is pretty capricious in such matters and could conceivably do the SAME thing. Look at all the sports guys even just SUSPECTED of an infraction that were barred. And don't forget the likes of madoff or stewart. Like I said though, you can NOT go by records alone, at least not in the US. It is possible that EVERY person that has used such transit for more than a few years has such marks on their record. And we don't know what the marks on this guys record looked like. MINE looked like MAYBE $10-$20 out of thousands. But he claimed that he was charged FAR MORE than what he avoided also. In the US, petty theft could cost thousands or years in jail.

I was ALSO once TRAPPED in the system. The system figured I owed too much(The cutoff is like $10), and wouldn't let me exit! The ONLY exit fare machine in the area was BROKEN! The turnstyles use a card or ticket purchased OUTSIDE the train area. INSIDE they are SUPPOSED to have WORKING exit fare systems in case a level of credit is exceeded. ALSO, I originally had JUST enough to get out, but the machine stole a dollar. It didn't take credit cards. As I recall, that was one time they let me out. It STILL looks like a skip though.

It was a pattern of behavior - he admitted to skipping this fare many times over a period of five years.

I expect that was the real problem. It demonstrates a lack of honesty and ethics not appropriate for someone in his position of authority.

On the other hand - with that kind of salary for years, I doubt he will be in the food lines any time soon.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Wish they would practice this in America where we're about to get robbed of more money for the financial fraudsters. Some countries prosecute -- we pay them. Sick of this crap. We need to just end the FED and go back to real money.
