[Awesome] ESA Astronaut Alexander Gerst's Timelapse Effect Video From Space

This is very cool... 12,500 images taken during Gerst's six-month Blue Dot mission aboard the International Space Station assembled into a killer 6 minute Ultra HD video.

Marvel at the auroras, sunrises, clouds, stars, oceans, the Milky Way, the International Space Station, lightning, cities at night, spacecraft and the thin band of atmosphere that protects us from space.

      Alexander was the 6th ESA astronaut to do a long duration mission in space (166 days). The Blue Dot Mission was named after Carl Sagan's description of our planet as “a pale blue dot” as seen in a photograph taken by Voyager from a distance of 6 billion kilometers.

      Blue Dot mission’s extensive scientific programme included experiments in physical science, biology, and human physiology as well as radiation research and technology demonstrations. All experiments chosen make use of the out-of-this-world laboratory to improve life on Earth or prepare for further human exploration of our Solar System.
