Kids, I am at the computer 18 hours a day. Some people swear by computer glasses. They have a reflective coating, and the colored lenses, like amber, help the eye relax. Does anyone here wear them? Are yours subscription?

I did use then for CRT monitors, since they do reduce ambient radiation, but for the LCD on my Laptop not necessary!

Yea, my co-workers sometimes use subscription glasses since they 'claim' LCD monitors cause eye strain. from what I hear they're pretty expensive.

I changed my screen settings from white to light gray to reduce glare.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

Joe, I've been considering getting a pair as well, although not prescription. I think it's the amber lens that's the most beneficial. Although if you wear glasses already, then getting prescription amber lenses would be necessary.

I also use f.lux software on my computer, which is set to automatically lower the brightness at sunset. I've used it to change the brightness of my monitor during the day as well to reduce eyestrain. I've noticed it has really helped my eyes a lot. Here's the link to the site if you're interested (I'm not an affiliate): https://justgetflux.com/ The software is free to download.

Blue light (from computer monitors, TVs, cell phones, digital clocks, etc.) is very stimulating to the brain. So wearing the amber glasses in the evening at least 2 to 3 hours (I don't recall the optimal amount of time) before bed will help you sleep better as well (which is the main reason I've been thinking about purchasing a pair - just haven't done it yet, but your thread has reminded me!).
