Alrighteeeee then! The NFL playoffs are finally here! What a great weekend for sports! NFL playoffs and a big UFC match between Jon Jones vs. Cormier. Can barely wait.

I'm going to go out on a limb here for my Superbowl prediction. I don't like either team but I see the PATS playing against the upstart COWBOYS in the superbowl. I think the Cowboys are red hot right now and are going to surprise some people.

The PATS will win 35 to 31.

      RoD,
You are indeed correct about the Cowboys being red hot right now and I am going to predict the same two teams you did for the superbowl but the outcome will be different.

      Cowboys 38 - Patriots 35

My 49ers stunk it up this year so I'm not into the NFL playoffs much. I'll just root against the Seahawks.

It will be a complete surprise if Romo gets past one playoff victory. This is the part of the season where he usually chokes.

So happy that my Seahawks finally won a Super Bowl last year. I've been a fan ever since they came into the league. Still, I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of Pete Carroll, Richard Sherman or Marshaun Lynch.

I've become a Cardinals fan, too, the past couple years. I hated to see Carson Palmer go down like that. After they lost Drew Stanton and Andre Ellington it was a done deal. They still may find a way to beat Carolina, though.

You're right Mike, Romo usually chokes during the post season. I knew I was going out on a limb there, especially with the competition the Cowboys are facing. Something tells me he's finally maturing as a QB and his team that he's playing with this year seems to be gelling well together.

We'll see what happens. I'm going to try and watch every single game this weekend.

I have a feeling the Cowpie's OL and Murray have a lot to do with Romo's maturation.

I see a lot of people is jumping on the Cowboy train. But what you're not remembering is they have a habit of blowing it in the playoffs. I'm surprised so many is skipping the playoffs and placing them straight in the Super Bowl. You're even overlooking the Detroit Lions, who are no slouch.

And if they manage to get past hungry Lions they still may have to face a trending Seahawks, Greenbay, or a gulp ... Arizona.

I dont even like the Cowboys and clearly remember their choke history during the playoffs with Romo as the QB. All Im saying is that they're my pick for going to the big game.

So I'm not on any train, just thought I'd pick them as my sleeper team. As of right now they're down two TDs vs the Lions. So my pick isnt looking so great atm.

I"ll make it official before the games start. Ultimately, Pats vs Seahawks. New England is my home team. They kicked butt for 7 games straight following a wipeout loss to the Chiefs. And then they struggled. Maybe with the bye they can get rested and play with a new chip on their shoulder.

As much as I'd like to see the Cowboys in the big game I'm not counting on it. I like Romo but he always seems to sabotage himself when everything's on the line. Seahawks are peaking just at the right time and taking no prisoners. I hope I'm wrong.

    Day One...

Carolina beats a depleted-at-QB Arizona ball club.

Despite Cam Newton's proclamation that it doesn't matter how you win as long as you do, I predict they will be blown out in their next meeting - losing by at least 17 points because its clear why they were only 6-10 during the regular season.

Baltimore roughs-up a Lavian Bell-less Pittsburgh to take one in the steel city against their arch rivals and move on.

    Today Day Two...

My Colts will take care of the Bengals and the hot Cowboys will end Detroit's season in a shootout.

Note: I will be wearing my Colts jersey during the game and that will seal the deal!

    My picks this weekend...

    Saturday:

    - Ravens take out the Pats:

    - Seahawks destroy the Panthers by at least 13.

    Sunday:

Cowboys go to Lambeu and defeat the Pack.

My Colts go to Mile High and outscore the Broncos.

The only home team I'm picking this weekend are the Seahawks.

    Enjoy!

I forgot to put on my Colts jersey but remembered at halftime but didn't want to jinx my team so I went the whole game without the jersey - which is #12 and has MY last name on it.

      Notes:

1: I think entire ref crews that worked together all year, should work together in the playoffs - not a patchwork of so-called all star crews.

2: How many steps does a receiver have to take (after catching the ball) before the NFL declares he has control of the ball?

I thought I saw Dez Bryant take 3 steps after he caught/controlled the ball and then fumbled when he tried to stretch the ball across the goal line.

That controversial pass play that went against the Cowboys IMHO, should have been a catch and then a fumble - not an incomplete pass.

It must be heartbreaking to lose any game on a controversial call by the zebras.

I remember my Colts lost a playoff game to the Packers way back in 1965-6 or 7 when the game winning field goal was called good and the uprights were much shorter than they are today - resulting in much higher uprights.

The guy on TV was explaining the rule that Dez Bryant (of the Cowboys) had to have control all the way to the ground, even after taking X number of steps because he didn't make a "significant football action". As soon as it hit the ground it became an incomplete pass.

I was scratching my head on that one because I thought he made a complete catch, took enough number of steps, and committed a "significant football action" and that the ground caused a fumble, yet the refs overturned it on review.

I'm not familiar enough with the rule they were citing.

Looks like it's going to be Seattle vs. New England in the big game. I just don't see the Pack or the Colts winning.

My Colts are destroyed by the Pats but it was another good year in which I hope we learned a few lessons that we can use in the playoffs next year.

    How???

Pats defense takes away TY Hilton and Reggie Wayne, Hakim Nix, Moncrief and the tight ends can't get open often enough. I think this is the end of the road for Reggie.

Thanks Regg! See you in the HOF.

What a blockbuster in game one. GB's defense played a great game for 55 minutes and the crying QB is now 10-0 verses super bowl winning QBs in his career.

My nephew and I will monitor whether that guy who messed up on Seattle's onside kick will be with GB next year. If I were GB, I'm not sure I want to look at him anymore.

NE seeking redemption after spy gate - they have not won a Super Bowl since.

    My Super Bowl Prediction:

    Seattle 27 New England 24

I'm rooting for Seattle and I think they're going to win.

Pats coach Bill Belechick always plans to take away the opposing teams' fav weapon on offense.

Will he stack the line, to stop Marshawn Lynch and force Russel Wilson to beat him through the air?

    Only time will tell!

As I told the wife - last week, they will try to pin it on the ball boy/equipment manager who acted on his own because he knew how Tom Brady liked his footballs.

But if he worked for the Pats shouldn't the Pats still suffer some type of penalty?

He was there so he wouldn't get fined --> but he might get fined for wearing the Beast Mode hat.

The hat, which costs $33, sold out and the site noted Wednesday morning that it was hoping to restock it as soon as possible. Lynch owns four trademarks to the phrase "Beast Mode" and has filed for three additional trademarks with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Over the past couple of years he has a habit of not talking to the press and/or giving boilerplate non-answers to avoid being fined for not talking to the press.
